yea, goes same for me, I am been losing my interest in anime, I been only watch 'Erased', 'Gintama', 'Durarara', and 'Mr. Osomatsu' each week, used to be about ten-fifteen anime per week...

As of now, I just watch some short anime; it's more like to kill the time, but enjoyable.

Find another way to spend recreational time on; it gives you a backup activity and more to talk about amongst people. Honestly, if all you do is watch anime and not get inspired or motivated to do something else because you watch anime or have watched anime seems problematic.

I lost interest for years when fandoms started creeping me out

Then I watched Kino's journey and I decided to give it another go because it was such a good series.

Anime has been such a big part of my life, I'm just a empty shell without.
I'll have nothing to talk about, nothing to think about and nothing to do...

The only anime I currently watch is erased, which is 20 min a week, and even that is kinda meh :/

(This is a serious thread, I really want to keep my interest in anime)

I am, too.

I turned to anime and asian dramas as a way to relax, because American concepts have me so brain dead now. My limit has been American Dad, Star Wars Rebels, MTV: The Challenge, Project Runway, and sometimes It's Always Sunny when my friend visits (he likes it). But even those bore me.

Now that I have seen pretty much every possible combination of Japanese concepts in media, I'm bored again. And becoming picky.

*gasp* Blasphemy! Vile blasphemy!

Just kidding. You may just need a break or it could be that the types of anime you are watching aren't resonating with you anymore. Then again it could be you are growing out of it altogether.

For now just take a breather month from anime, try reading some non-fiction or taking up a new hobby and see what happens.

When you become so dependent on something that it's the only thing that you think or talk about, you've got way bigger problems. There's no right answer to your question because it depends on person to person, but I would find something else to do (like find a job) so that anime is not a lifestyle, but a reward for yourself after a day at work or whatever you decide to do with your time.

I attend school with 2 part time jobs on the side, so anime has never been my lifestyle in that regard.

Maybe it's a lousy season for you? My interests go up and down though, sometimes I find myself watching anime more and reading less or the other way around. No use forcing yourself or worrying about it, try something else that you think you'll find interesting or like. You're enthusiasm will return again in a few weeks!

Never in my life have I picked up a hobby that I once dropped. That's why it worries me.

Find some old anime using ANN and find a place to watch it. I often try searching/googling for "anime like ____" for recent shows i watched. Some seasons just are not great, try watching something else and coming back to it next season. Join some anime club or local group for anime. Seriously though anime can't be the only thing you like, if it is try to broaden your hobbies. Get a game console, join some clubs, find local groups, find a sport or something. If you don't work get a job it will get you money and will be a productive use of your time. If you can't find a club to join make one.

Can i ask what anime got you into anime and if you can name a few shows or films you really liked i might be able to suggest or inspire you back into anime and relight that flame ?

Well, dbz was my first and the one that got me into anime, but death note was the anime that made me realize the potential the medium had.
My favorites has obviously changed over time, but I guess i'll just list my current?
1. Hajime no ippo
2. Monogatari series
3. Steins gate
4. Your lie in april
5. Attack on titan
Death note is still up there somewhere though

The only standalone movie ive seen and really enjoyed is Sword of the stranger.

I live in a place where such things as anime clubs are unheard of. It doesn't exist. Not even a drivable distance can reach a rumor of it. And a club needs people. And I've tried watching stuff outside of the season, even older anime's.

It's more that anime is the only thing that's kept with me. I've been through countless hobbies and gone tired of them. Anime have lasted like 5 years though, while my other hobbies like sports and music would last no more than months.
And I already have 2 part time jobs outside of school

Do you have a list of what you have seen and liked? Also, what anime got you interested in anime would be helpful as well. Having these would probably help with recommending things for those who don't know your tastes.

Based on you liking Erased, and Tsukimonogatari, Hunter x Hunter, Death Note, and Steins;Gate in your profile, it seems psychological and thriller shows are in your wheelhouse. FUNimation typical has most of those ones, like Death Parade, for example. The Seven Deadly Sins is a good adventure thriller on Netflix, though I'm unsure if you'd have it in your region. Same with Knights of Sidonia and soon Ajin. Also, maybe check out Ping Pong The Animation since you like Hajime no Ippo in the sports genre. It has a good story and delves into the characters' psyches well.

Kaiji is one of the more intense anime that kept my interest throughout of late. There are not that many that do that for me. For something a bit different from normal anime fare, maybe try Magic Kaito 1412 if you have not seen it.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/magic-kaito-1412

It's from the same creator as Detective Conan, which I'd also recommend. Though Detective Conan has a ridiculous amount of episodes to date, especially compared to Magic Kaito 1412.

If you can't find an anime that really grabs you, I'd try taking a break from anime for a bit. That will likely cause you to reflect on what series appeal to you most and what to look for again. I'm not sure how many anime you typically check out in a season, but trying to watch most everything in a season will burn most anyone out. Having realistic expectations of most shows will also make the experience better on the whole. Just go in with the mindset it is for fun and don't think too hard about a show and eventually one that surpasses expectations will grab you again. Sometimes it is just a weak season or two that make you weary on anime, that's normal for most I imagine. You can only wait it out as far as simulcasts go. I usually hit my backlog in seasons where I'm not really liking much. Maybe check out some anime you have been putting on hold but planned to watch eventually, too, instead of watching simulcasts this season?

Try re-watching an old series and figure out why you watched it. My reason to watching anime is because of the back story behind the series and also it makes me laugh like Ouron High School... Host Club English Dub. If it makes you smile or laugh in most cases, then its worth watching. However, I haven't been able to watch any of the new anime this season since I have work and college. Watch Assassination Classroom you'll laugh at the nonsense happening in that series.
