Anime has been such a big part of my life, I'm just a empty shell without.
I'll have nothing to talk about, nothing to think about and nothing to do...

The only anime I currently watch is erased, which is 20 min a week, and even that is kinda meh :/

(This is a serious thread, I really want to keep my interest in anime)

I can see where you are coming from in a way I have been a pro wrestling fan for more then 20 years but little by little the interest is fading yet it's hard to let go because it's been a part of my life are there any other hobbies or interests, what's something you want to pursue for a career

I think you need to get out of your comfort genre. (or else anime is super stale right now cause the only thing I'm watching is Erased too)

When you look at character arc's, plots, twists, writing, etc, there's a lot of the same'ole concepts.

I suggest you look into something that's more out of your comfort zone, like a really good slice of life. Usagi Drop? Maybe go into something psychological like Serial Experiments Lain. If you're looking for a good movie you can check out Paprika, or The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. It might also sound crazy, but there's always Japanese Dramas, some(most) of them are based off mangas anyways and a lot of them are pretty good. Solanin...

Anyways, I could recommend more but I also don't know what you have already seen because it's probably quite extensive.

Just let it happen. Went through the same thing and if your interest in anime is supposed to come back it will.

The thing is I don't have a comfort genre when watching anime. I used to watch everything.

It sounds to me like your tastes may be changing. I know within the last 10 years I have fallen in and out of watching anime. There was a long stretch where for about a year or so I didn't watch much of anything (it was when I lived in Japan, and was getting sick and tired of Japanese, tbh) and I was just tired of the whole formula of anime.

Now I watch short episode series. Perhaps it's time you try something new and different. You may not be into the same genre anymore. Try Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinju -- it's more of a drama anime. You'll know if you'll like it after the first episode. If you haven't, try out Mushishi -- a relaxing anime about a world where "mushi" exist (and not bugs) that the normal human eye cannot see. They cause strange phenomenons and just go about their business trying to survive. Ginko is a "mushishi" who can see them, interact with them, and tries to help people if they've come into contact with them as well as continue to learn about them.

Mushishi kept me hooked in the anime world because it was beautifully drawn and written. I didn't have to watch every episode, and it helped me relax. The music is also really nice, too. :)

And lastly, don't force yourself. So there hasn't been anything that's caught you're eye recently? That's ok. Maybe the last few seasons haven't been really up to your tastes. Keep checking the anime list charts each season if you can remember because that's also what drew me back in. Seeing shows like Lupin the III come back, for example.

Iyt may sound weird to say but if you skip a season of anime and pickup an entirely new hobby during that time or re-visit an old one it may jumpstart your old love of anime. Like they say absence makes the heart grow fonder which goes hand in hand with another more true than not cliche....you don't know what you've got til it's gone.

And lately i have been becoming more annoyed by female characters and there high pitch voices! when they talk it really annoys me i wish i could find some anime where the female is a strong character not a whining brat?

Try Jormungand. It's about a female arms dealer and her company.
The US licence is held by Funimation.

You may also want to try Crest of the Stars and Starship Operators. Both are sci-fi series with strong female leads.

/rakugo
/witch-craft-works
/yona (eventually)

I'd also recommend /chihayafuru, but Chihaya can be kinda bratty at times.

Take a break I usually take breaks between watching anime. My longest has been 4 years.

Then I returned and it became cooler.

I kind of have this problem too
Try finding new anime to watch based on your favourite genre, that might help

I've been having the same problem lately, but that's mostly due to life and such. The only thing I can recommend is rewatching a series you were once a big fan of, or perhaps start a series with a friend and watch it together. Anime is much better in company to be honest. Maybe even try a new genre or see where the random selection lands on, got an old series you've been meaning to start and never got to it? Go for it

If this fails, maybe you've hit your limit. Just don't force yourself to watch anime when you don't want to, it will completely ruin the experience and feel more like a chore than anything. If you've been trying to force yourself back into anime, take a break. I don't mean a few days or weeks I mean take a hiatus for a few months or even a year if necessary
