Higuraishi No Naku Koro Ni is my all time favorite horror anime, my dad saw a funny video about it( the one where Keichi says he can't wait for his first day of school then the video and continues to show the various deaths throughout the first season} and then proceeded to tell me that I had interesting taste, it made me laugh spontaneously for days when I thought of it.

I just finished season one like 10 minutes ago and I'm blown away at how much I enjoyed this anime. Time to start season two, like within the next 30 seconds.

Do crushes count? I'm pretty sure it's just
.

As for the yuri, NO. Unless we're were talking about kira. Which has about the standing of DBGT except less.

regarding the "romance" comment above vv

After finishing both seasons plus the ova afterwards I can say that this is in my top 10 anime possibly even top 5. The characters, the complex storyline, the soundtrack, was incredible. the artwork wasn't the best but I had no problems with it. I recommend watching this subbed as afterwards I saw some of the infamous scenes in this show but with the english voice actors and...let's say I was cringing more at the voice acting then the actual scenes lmao. The psychotic laughing and stuff was done so much better in the original Japanese version. Sometimes keichis voice bothered me in season one but that's me knittpicking.

Edit- turns out there was another ova series I missed called when they cry glitter..well I just finished watching and turns out I was wrong regarding what I said regarding the romances. Man what were they thinking making this lol?

Its just a joke series. And completely in line with the series I might add. Ryukishi07 has always mixed the goofy with the dark, generally speaking the series was supposed to make the dark darker by putting the light on the surface, and he writes a ton of goofy side stories as well.

I think he just decided to give it the go ahead because people were demanding more of a series that was already finished. Aside from the one arc in Rei that filled in a few of the things that the anime left out, everything after Kai was just randomness being told because the story was already finished. You honestly have more relevant material about Higurashi in Umineko than you actually have in anything after kai.

...

Excited about the release though. Gonna have to pick it up so I can re watch it. Itching for it as I haven't been able to access the full VN lately since Mangagamers took down the entirety of the When the Cicadas/Seagulls Cry series when they started their revamp of the series using the Playstation versions as a base. It was only then that I realized that I was missing When they Cry 2 on this computer(although I have 1,3, and 4.) and I don't know where to pick up an English version legally other than there currently. I'll pick up the series as they re-release it but its taking a while. I'll kind of miss the original art too, amateur as it was, as it grew on me.

At least I have 3 and 4, because I think I would have a mental breakdown if I couldn't access Umineko whenever I have a new thought on it that pops into my head. Hopefully the re-release includes Umineko, as however much Studio Deen may have not done that series justice in anime form they chose an amazing voice cast that also was used in the PS3 VN version. The banter between Daisuke Ono and Sayaka Ohara is practically porn to me.

No, it's not a stupid question. You're just talking to Max. He seems a bit confused on a lot of the stuff that happened in the show.

The author literally had a moment where he self-inserted into a character to call out his own bullshit and how he couldn't make the finished product coherent.
