8/29/2016 - So, that was an unexpected bump of this quiet old thread a couple of days ago! Mod lorreen here, hijacking this thread. We already have a very active "What did you watch today" thread ( /forumtopic-679289/post-the-anime-youve-watched-today ), so I'm changing the title to focus on the second question posed by the original OP:

what the first ever Anime show you watched that got you into Anime in the first place & when (if you can remember when it was you saw it, and just saying the year will suffice)

We actually have several threads of that sort, but they were inactive before this thread even started, so I'm going to close them.

I watched Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinju and I guess the first anime I watched that got me into Anime was probably... either Pokemon back in 1998 or maybe some random show on Toonami after school like Dragonball Z. I remember setting my VCR to tape it when I wasn't going to be at home.

The most current episode of Erased

The first one I remember watching was.........um.....Dragonball. It was on TV at the time so it was a long long time ago. My anime watching was kinda spotty and on and off until about 4 years ago. At that point I didn't have TV anymore, but I had a computer so I gravitated towards watching more anime, besides, the quality of the TV programs seems to have gone down the drain..

What I saw today was Bubuki Buranki episode 8. Before watching anime more frequently, I watched Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z and Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid without knowing they were anime, then in school a friend told me about Naruto, I watched the Zabuza arc in Cartoon Network and I really liked it, but the show that made me realize my love for anime was Fullmetal Alchemist, which is to this day my favorite anime of all time

First ever was Kimba the White Lion. sitting in my little child-sized rocking chair on my awesome 13 inch COLOR! RCA TV in my bedroom.

Yes. I remember that vividly.

The first anime I watched this morning was episode 9 of Fate/Stay Night.

I am actually fairly new to anime. In the past I enjoyed several films and I believe it was in or around 2013 that Witchblade and Full Metal Alchemist caught my attention. I just recently completed Fate/Zero which has completey resparked my interest so here I am

First got into anime when my friend would bring in manga everyday and I would read them with him. (back in elementary/primary school) He would bring in Shaman King everyday and it was great. Then he introduced me to Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo and it was all downhill from there :)

I binge watched all of the first season of Noragami today. Started off slow and moved on to being a very cool anime! definitely gonna have to watch season 2.

Fate / Stay & Fate / Zero is one of the best animes. Definitely top 5, so I'm glad that is what got you back into this wonderful world of anime haha.
And I haven't seen Witchblade yet, but I've seen half if not more of Fullmetal, definitely another good one. If you like Action / Adventure anime such as those, I HIGHLY recommend Hunter X Hunter. The whole show is complete now, so you can watch it all on here. At first you might not get it, but just wait until season 2. Nen, like chi, or whatever people will call it, in this show its power that they use and every Nen user has different abilities, and the storylines.....the storylines are just so damn good

I will definitely add Hunter X Hunter to my list if I have not already. I have also been looking at Blue Exorcist and Black Butler suggested by a friend. I am not sure if you have seen those or enjoyed them? Thank you so much for the recommendation

Today I watched Shokugeki no Soma (also caught up to the manga). The first anime I have ever watched was Fairy Tail. Then it led to Sword Art Online and before I knew it, I was watching all kinds of stuff. Started watching anime during second semester of senior year of high school back in 2014. Those were good times.

I watched an episode of One Punch Man today. I think it may have been the 7th episode (?) and about the 4th episode I've watched... it was okay, nothing too special, but the show's kind of funny.

Probably my initial interest in anime was with Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z, which I never did see much of and have very little interest to now... Then I watched some Inuyasha, which seemed a little better, probably some others a little bit. Perhaps the first anime where I really loved what I saw of it was Death Note... and I eventually went on to actually finish that one-- of course, it's a lot shorter than Dragon Ball and Inuyasha.
