I also forgot to point out that the age of consent in Japan is 13, and I giggle everytime I search this because the image of the dude just looks incredibly disappointed with Japans law

Technically lollis are legal, what we would classify as underage in anime doesn't apply too much

If it's just ecchi or lightly suggestive then that should be fine. I think if there's hentai fanart of kids (under 13 or so) being drawn by someone significantly older, then there's probably something wrong with that person.

Depends. I think there are laws concerning fan art of REAL PEOPLE. I know that pasting a young girls face on a nude adult body is considered child pornography, so I can imagine a suggestive sketch, although one must really ask if she was victimized (I think to an extent, yes, because kids can't really consent to being drawn or videotaped, even from memory). Not too sure of the legality of that however.

Reading up on it, it does appear to be illegal, provided you can prove the child in said image was real.

So wait, its only illegal if it has something to do with actual people in real life?

But if it fictional then draw away?

Case Law says no.

All i'm seeing is vague answers by people who approve of it, hypocrites flat out lying not paying attention to how the vote totally gives them away, hypersensitive people who don't approve, and people actually caring even though the intire world forbids it by law...

Btw, I do not believe the same trends of thinking are the same for actual Anime drawers and producers over in Japan(Where its illegal to show public hair but ok to draw lolis? Its principal and understanding, who the fuck is going to molest the tv and fantasy about an imaginary character and put in jail over it...)
This debate is honestly more Western Culture based than anything.
(Remember the Elin from Tera, that was an epic CF on NA based EnMasse themselves.)

I simply cannot fathom why we have this moral compass that, 18 means its ok and under anything else makes you a kid. but I do agree with the whole you should not marry so fucking young. Sex is sex, unless its family or with actual children(who have not hit that hormone phase). Retarded yet here to stay. Like my dad told me, just cause you have hair on your balls doesnt mean your a man. Lets be real here, drawn media has been an outlet for those with those....tastes.
Marriage isn't something you should do so young, I can't stress this more than enough. Remember just because the law says its, doesn't make it right or wrong, it just makes it law.

Age of Consent in Michigan is 16. In Michigan, drawings of anime characters under 18 in sexual situations (mediated by the miller test) is child pornography.

that doesnt make any sense, where I live theres statues of naked little angle boys, and thats art, are those people going to get arrested?
Not only that, I've been reading up on some of this.

The CPPA made all virtual child sex depictions illegal without regard to whether the speech was protected or not, so that part of the statute was struck down as facially invalid.

Jesus, since when the hell a nation can try to control your very hands?!

The Miller Test is probably why they're still up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miller_test

CPPA was replaced with the PROTECT act which complied with the miller test.

personally disturbed, but no actual under-aged person is being exploited so no, it shouldn't be. would you prefer them not have an outlet so they go crazy and act on their impulses? it's a drawing, only thing hurt is the tree that died to make your creepy picture.

Oh, sweet Jesus, stop...

While we're at it, let's punish people for drawing violent images of people killing each other, because obviously those drawings are created by murderers, right?

...

This is interesting topic I mean they aren't real it's like the UN trying to ban anime for "woman's rights" when the woman aren't real people they are animated fictitious works of art but I feel like it depends on what they look like
Posted 3/10/16
Well I don't think they should be punished but I'm not gonna deny that people who do that are incredibly creepy
