Grimgar is changing up the whole adventure/fighting mentality this season, yet there's quite a few who bash it for not being action heavy enough. I know what you mean, its like every other antagonist seems to be that OP bad guy who wants to see the world burn to satisfy his revenge. I'd say its more about characterization in the fighting genre than the actual plot itself. If you repeat the same process enough times anything gets boring, even eating delicious cake.

Spring list up! Not falling behind this time...

Same tbh. A lot of anime is getting really old from what OP mentioned to moe slice of life to harems that are so bad I might just punch a wall. The amount of originality in shows is growing so slim, I just want good anime and not a bunch of bs.

Fighting is okay when it complements the plot, not when it is the plot.
K is my current obsession and it has fighting, but the fighting adds to the plot. e.g. the fight between Fushimi and Yata in episode 5 of the first season. It's full of character moments for both of them., not to mention the conversation beforehand. Same with the fight between Kuroh and Munakata in episode 7. Also the visuals are amazing and the characters are pretty. But the point is, there's a good, complex story. |

I almost didn't make it past the 1st episode. I thought that the whole party sucked so bad at fighting that they should've all died the 1st scene |

^The whole point of Grimgar is to show how a bunch of bottom-of-the-barrels learn teamwork and survival, and themselves as individuals, the hard way. I for one have seen more than enough inexplicably gifted teenagers PWNing everything right off the bat. Grimgar brings something new to the table. Speaking of something new, Konosuba is also pretty great, for different reasons.
Back on topic. The first and last time I liked a straight up action anime was when I was 9 or 10 years old. It was DBZ. Wouldn't say I miss them since I prefer comedy, and well written stories. Action is only good when there's some other interesting stuff to go along with it. |

I'm not really what one would call a picky eater. I take from the entire buffet that is anime.

No I love the fighting anime genre, what I hate are bad animations, long pauses, obvious reused frames, lousy filler, & characters that die but never stay dead.
