Guh. If Funi is gonna fail at getting the latest Strike Witches releases maybe Crunchyroll can snag the license.

If it is a Kadokawa series (like Strike Witches 2), CR would have it in the bag, due to their recent agreement. Given that the light novels and manga are published by Kadokawa Shoten, that seems very likely.

At the most it could possibly be a dual stream on both Crunchyroll and Funimation, probably a week or 2 delay on Funimation. Depends on how the contracts are worded. (May not apply since this is technically a spin off and not a direct sequel series)

I don't care who gets it as long as someone does. Seeing all the new Strike Witches stuff come out and no one pick it up over here has been frustrating. At least Funi finally got the movie.

I do admit to hoping Funi gets some part of it as they'd be more likely to do a video release rather than just streaming.

loved "Strike Witches" so I'am looking forward for this series but one thing always bothered me about the series... WHY DON"T THEY WEAR PANTS?!!! is it because of the strikers or something? whatever also would like to see a series on the tank witches. (whatever happen to Mio and Minna from the previous series? lol)

Precisely. In order to maximize the magic transfer from the Witch to the Striker Unit close physical contact is required. Ideally skin contact though it would seem semi-opaque tights don't have a measurable effect.

Speaking from years of experience and applying that to what I've seen in the series I'd guess the girls who wear tights are in 20-40 denier semi-opaques. It's enough to tint the legs but not enough to hide things like underwear. So yes, very, very thin.

As to why they don't all wear them I'd say it's personal preference on the part of Perrinne (she is the "proper rich girl" after all) and for Sanya and Eila it's a nod to them both being from colder parts of Europe. Yoshika and Mio wear bathing suits. Erica, Charlotte, and Francesca probably don't care. Barkhorn is much too practical. If Minna ever cared she probably lost that over her time with Barkhorn and Erica. I'd say Lynette would be the odd one out but in the Strike Witches universe no one bats an eye at the girls running around pants-less. It's imho one of the saving graces of the series. In other shows when a girl's panties are exposed everyone freaks out. In Strike Witches they might as well be wearing potato sacks.

Haha, I read the title as 'Brave Bitches' and was wondering what kind of genre it would be.

This is gonna mess with a lot of people I feel like. Their will be a bunch of people that have never seen Strike Witches and won't know what is going on. Doesn't make sense that CR gets Brave Witches without having Strike Witches already. Will still be watching it.

So does this mean I have to watch season 2 and the movie now?

I expect the series won't depend on having seen the previous series (certainly not the second, as it is set before it).

Also, keep in mind CR had both series as a simulcast.

In fact, I believe the first series takes the honor of being CR's first legal simulcast. It was rather strange compared to now, as each episode was available for only a very limited time.

Funimation announced they had licensed the second series soon after CR announced their simulcast of it, and said they would also simulcast it, but never did. It didn't appear on their site until well after the season was over.

No. From the announcement topic:

"Brave Witches" takes place in between seasons 1 and 2 of "Strike Witches."

The first episode was throwing me off.

Made me dislike this whole "witch" vehicle and furry/animal mixed into a chaotic mess over the theme and how I am supposed to feel about it all?
