Is it ok for a parent or older person to bath with their child? This question is mostly about parents but i'll open it up to uncles/aunts etc. I was on facebook and there was a picture of a man bathing with his daughter(im assuming around the age of 3 or 4?) and it was titled "what is wrong with this picture!". I didnt think much of it. I've never bathed with my parents(adleast not as long as I can remember) but i've watched plenty of anime where parents would bath with their kids so I assumed it was something not everyone did but not a bad thing to do, even without anime I never considered it a bad thing myself. Alot of people were cursing at he man, calling him a pedo, saying his kids need to be taken away from him and some others were making the argument that a man shouldnt bath with his daughter and should only bath with his son(and mom with daughter). I chalked this up as a cultural thing but I could be wrong so I wanted to see what others thought.

Where do you stand on this? Do you think its fine for parents to bath with their child? Child being 2 years and older. Do you think its ok for a parent to bath with their child of the opposite gender? What about others like sister/brothers/aunts/uncles etc.

Fathers and sons, mothers and daughters often bathe together. It does seem weird once children reach a certain age.

I don't think I've ever bathe with my parents at that age.
I don't see anything wrong with it though.

For young kids, theres no problem with it at all. If you keep doing it when they get older it gets weird.

There is no right answer. You'll get so many different answers to this based on the person and that persons culture...

As far as where I stand goes, I don't care. Don't have kids and won't ever so it's not a problem I'll encounter.

Well, this can be taken by a personal opinion or a social aspect. There are many cases where, there might only be one parent to care for a child. There are also other things to take into consideration, such as nudist and nomadic not really primitive nomadic's can't really remember the right term at the moment. However, for thousands of years parents have bathed with children, some people might make the argument where that was then, this is now. Nonetheless people need to remember we are still primates/mammals. Perhaps I am going too deep about this topic, however I really think people should educate themselves before they fully judge a topic. I would still need to research the social aspect of it more to make a full analysis. However, at the present moment, I will have to say, that there is nothing wrong with it. Unless The parent would molest or take advantage of the child, I don't think there is enough evidence to prove this though. I also do not think that there are ways to actually get actually data for this topic...

I don't see anything wrong with it as long as its a little kid. A lot of times little kids don't want to bath so the parent may as well bath themselves if they have to completely bath their child.

Only if the kid is little, and the kid usually is. Hell, when digging through my mothers garage once, found a few old bath pictures.

I used to shower with my father (my sister did too). We were young though. It is fine until a certain age I think. It then gets weird.

I never did it but I don't find it strange. As the child grows I imagine it will only be appropriate with relatives of the same sex, but still acceptable.

I don't think japan is as conscientious about paedophiles as western countries, tbh... I've heard this from someone else, but apparently over there in japan, the high school teachers can go on trips with students to bath houses etc and sleep in the same room etc.

but here in Australia, it's like... if a teacher even touch a student on the shoulder, it can be seen as sexual harassment. it's very different lol.

I think they have more trusts in their adults? idk. it's like in western countries, you hear news of teachers sleeping with their students all the time, of course anybody would get paranoid.

anyway, I feel like I've gone semi off-topic, my answer is yes. it's like normal... and you need to sleep with a child up to 10 years sometimes, to comfort them. it's the same principle to bathing

heck, I asked my mum to co-sleep with me when I was 23, when my rabbit died... it left this huge hole in my heart... and I had nobody else to ask.

you need that comfort of another person to feel better, it doesn't have to be sexual. :/

The people castigating the man for bathing with his daughter are retarded. Of course it's fine for a parent to bathe with their child, regardless of gender. I can't believe this is even being argued.
