For real young kids you almost have to be present, otherwise they might play or not clean enough. I'm sure everyone has seen parents take their kids of the opposite sex into public bathrooms. It falls in the same category as changing diapers or potty training your kid. It's just something you have to do.

It's okay for them to supervise until a certain age (3 or 4), but never to bathe together in my opinion.

Of course., people need to mind their business and stop assuming every father has it in for his daughter.

Oh, how terrible of parent to bathe with their children! It's not like they change their diapers, dress them, or anything.

I used to have a bad habit of falling asleep while taking a bath or shower, up until I was six. You can imagine how badly that could have ended. Fortunately, the worst that occured was frequent ear infections. Bathing with our children is definitely not a bad idea, offhand.

I'd stop if the kid is like 8 and can bathe by themselves.
