I do both "keep going on your own" and "go to forums/youtube". Or sometimes I just give up if none of those works.

Yes, cheat codes still exist. In fact, I use cheat codes for Pokemon Soul Silver, the Nintendo 3DS remake of Silver version and I also use a few codes for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Action Replay makes cheat code ports for many different consoles, I think. I know for sure they cover 3DS because I use their products...

Not saying I can't play at all without codes. I'm a very very skilled Pokemon trainer with the whole 18 years of experience. But I got bored of not spicing things up by stealing Trainer Pokemon or endless items around the time I turned 19, so my now-ex got me my first Action Replay. Then he sold it or took it or something when he left me and I bought my own with the money from my new job and now that one's broke, so I have to buy a replacement when I get paid... I also now have to replace a Disney art book that I really loved because I was stupid enough to forget it at college this last Wednesday, but that's beside the point.

Point is, there are still code ports out there and there are still codes.

I prefer to try to solve things on my own first, then check for any bug reports if I'm not having any luck, then resort to walkthroughs if I just can't get it on my own. Seeing as how I'm currently replaying TES: Oblivion checking for bug reports is pretty much inevitable.

Keep trying until I get it.

I keep on trying but eventually I give up and go to the walkthroughs because I'm dumb as h#ll

keep trying for as long as i can but then if i cant solve it i just look it up online because theres no point in playing video games if you just end up frustrated and hating all of existance( speaking from experience), dont get me wrong i like a good challenge everynowandthen but i also want to ENJOY playing the game

Depends on the game.

Keep trying for platformers and RPGs.

For VNs, walkthrough to get specific scenes that I missed on the first run.

Ask how others succeeded and then continue to fail and blunder until I finally figure it out on my own.

It's like that old magazine said. Run right to win and shoot until it dies.
Really though I'm not above asking for a little help.

It's like taking a test. You simply take a break then come back, and when all else fails answer C and move on.
