My obsession is probably the wild crap I could do and still pass as normal over there. I visited last year and have considered moving every day since on the premise that I could actually be myself.

Despite my profile, I wouldn't really call myself a weeb. I really like learning Japanese mythology/folklore.

You're only a weeb if you're denouncing your own culture to be Japanese.

For me, I really like their anime and video games, and their music is growing on me.

Beyond that their history is fascinating and their old architecture is breathtaking. And the women, and the flora/fauna... I guess I like a lot about Japan

Their craftsmanship and attention to detail. I pay a premium for Japanese items since I know they won't mess it up and will make quality things that last me a long time. And this has proven to be true.

I also like their mythology and traditional culture. As well as their food, of course.

Would we ever have manga, anime, and video games if it wasn't for Japanese mythology? There's a lot of great stories from their folklore. I already knew about the story of Momotaro, aka Peach Boy when my tour guide on my Japan vacation nearly two years ago talked about that story during a daylong bike trip through the Kibi Plains. That story originated from that region of Japan which is why its so well known there.
