I've had it happen a number of times. Sometimes it was because I was only able to get my hands on one (vhs/dvd/laserdisc/blu-ray) part of the series and was never able to track down the rest of it. Other times it was because the rest of the series wasn't available in the US and by the time it was I'd moved on to something else. Then there was the time when my divorce began and the ex took all the videos with him so I lost track of multiple series I'd started.

Yep Shugo Chara got to I think the middle of the second then got side tracked with other anime and forgot which episode I was on and well really didn't want to start all over. So just dropped it I might finish it one day since it's still on crunchyroll for now.

Yes, actually. I was watching Sketchbook Full Color's, which I adored, here on CR as it was taken down. Since I don't use disreputable sources (almost more out of concern for my computer than moral considerations), I was basically left unable to finish it. Amazingly, I might possibly get the chance to finish it now thanks to Nozomient's YouTube channel (If they continue to stream it, that is).

But there were a few other shows that I was watching on the "dark side" that I never got to finish when I turned away.

There are a few shows this Winter season that I dropped despite generally liking them. Galko-chan for one, and HaruChika. They're enjoyable but not worth waiting every week for.

HaruChika was the first thing that came to mind for me. Really good, but after the fourth week of watching it, it became a bother. It's an anime that would be better off just binging, I guess,

EDIT: Just realized how slightly odd is that I can't bring myself to finish but I made it my icon..

Yeah it a way. I plan on finishing many of them, but one of my all time favorites, Monster, I have not finished. I didn't get Hulu until after it was off and I wanted to watch the episodes uncut hence not finishing the series. It sucks because there has only been the one DVD collection release. I seriously want to finish the series, but it's a case of wanting to finish the show desperately.

See, this is kinda funny, but I watched Clannad, and I really liked it. However, I knew that something extremely sad happens in After Story, thanks to the internet, though I don't know the specifics. I liked the characters so much that I've put off watching After Story for well over a year after watching Clannad.

I just don't want characters I like to go away! And judging from the first season, it's probably heart-wrenching stuff.

So for any reasons, have you ever not finished watching an anime series that you ENJOYED? Why?

Gurren Laggan, They started to die in droves, and it was too much. I shut it off when Tia.......

Sometimes a show will be really good for a while, then start going in a weird direction I don't like. Most of the time I take a break from it to prepare for the change in style, but sometimes I'll drop it altogether if it's irredeemably bad.

The only times I can recall not finishing anime I like is when not all of the episodes were (readily) available legally. For example, Bakemonogatari is legally available on home video, but I don't want to buy it just to view the last 3 episodes that aren't legally streamed.

Hunter x Hunter.
I've watched through most of it, but I skipped the Chimera Ant part. I couldn't take it.
