I'm going to hedge and say if someone loves fur for warmth, style, tradition - I'd recommend perhaps vintage fur since there probably is a glut of this out there. I will also say it's a bit hypocritical to denounce fur and then eat other mammals, animals etc for food. I admire vegans and people who are truly defenders of animal well-being. In "modern times" one would think there may be convincing fabric imitation choices out there too.

Unless you shave your body, you are wearing your fur.

I wouldn't say I'm against fur, leather or other animal products in general so much as waste and cruelty. If you take something's life I think you have a sort of moral obligation to waste as little of it as possible.

Thus, if the rest of the rabbit or what-have-you is being used, then I wouldn't say I'm against making clothing with its hide. I'd also prefer that animals raised for slaughter live as decent lives as possible - as opposed to spending their entire existence inside a cramped cage.

So yeah.. tl;dr I'm not against it in principle, just certain industry practices.

I'm okay with the idea to the point where I grew my own fur coat.

On topic: most fur animals are raised in farms these days, not killed in the wild. It's no different than eating hamburger or pork chops, it is what the animal was raised for.

it depends. if it's for fashion, no, if it's for warmth yes, but even then there are other alternatives.

Fake fur, yes. But the real thing, absolutely not. Seeing that the faux stuff has been getting more and more like the real thing that there's just isn't any point to go killing animals for them when something can be made that with amazing quality that rivals that of the real thing.

It's okay, but I prefer cotton and modern clothing is all about nylon, linen and cotton. Silk clothing is what I would be after, but I'll stick to cotton in the meantime.

So you think we should just throw away the hide of an animal we killed for food purposes? My people would consider that an insult to the animal that just gave up it's life.

It might have been acceptable and legal years ago, but certainly not anymore nowadays

Why not, unless you're a vegetarian you are endorsing the slaughtering of animals for food purposes. Would you waste the hide of an animal simply to appease your misplaced sense of morality?
