For you elevator haters...

Well, that story wasn't uplifting. It was a downer. This just elevates my fear of elevators. This is just wrong on so many levels. Now I would take steps to avoid elevators.

No but seriously, this is just fucked up.

The lesson of this story? Don't get stuck in an elevator during Chinese holidays..... in China

They're still playing elevator music? Ohh, I miss that!

Now it's all the Lite 80's Classics stations! One time, walked into a local store where the owners usually put on the Sirius all-70's channel for cool's sake, but one time, for a laugh, they put on the Easy Listening Mantovani-Muzak channel, like the old fashioned stores used to....There's just something about it, it didn't deserve to be driven into extinction by our momentary generational frustration with it.

The worst part about these articles is that they never show the corpse.

(And let's make sure that other readers have the thread in context--
If there is levity expressed in the tone of the thread, it's not toward the victim, but derisively at China, whose "Economic threat to the world" is constantly undone by stories of pollution, technical incompetence/neglect, backwards political repression, and dangerous levels of corruption.
A country that used to be the New Russia of the world has become the New Jersey of the world.)

I live in a 100 year old 12 story building. On the tenth floor. I use the elevators there. They're constantly breaking down. Yet, somehow, I've been lucky enough not to have been caught in one when it did break down. The elevators are noisy, rattly, bump and shake a lot, and it's really unnerving to me. I keep thinking, "this death trap is gonna crash into the basement instead of stopping on the first floor..."

I don't have a problem with elevators at all - except for the ones on my building.... Then I see this story...... I had to post it.

Economic thread to the world? What? I have literally stopped buying any and all non-chinese hdmi cables, usb cables, smartphones, game handhelds, tablets, earphones, you name it! It's great! Why pay 30 euros for a hdmi cable in a brick and mortar store here when I can pay 95 cents on aliexpress and it works just as well??

OVerpriced western trash!

I'd worry more about that country you're so quick to deride. Whatever their faults they still have a military capacity equal to the United States, and a history of imperial practices..And they are backing themselves into a corner, that is a sure fire recipe for shit hitting the fan. And bullets start to fly when that happens.

Let's hope the elevators get them and thin their numbers before they become a problem for the rest of the world...
