I am a pervert. And I love fanservice. but, fanservice just for the sake of it at times does get old. When it fits what is going on with the characters, story, comedic events, sex scenes, etc. Then it's ok. But some times it is a bit gratuitous. But, with that said you will never find me "complaining" about it. Maybe a groan IRL at the clicheness but that's about it.

There is no problem whatsoever to have fan service in a show as long as it is not the main focus. That´s why I don´t like most of the ecchi anime because they tend to concentrate more on having sexual situations in which they can have exploit fan service than having a compelling story.

But when someone says that fan service didn´t exist before modern anime is just wrong. The original Dragon Ball had incredible amounts of fan service involving Bulma and no one complained about it

I think you probably have things backwards, if you ask me. While I have no issue with fanservice, wherever it is, as long as it's not obnoxiously out of place, I would think that fanservice in anime that aren't ecchi would be more of an issue, than fanservice in an ecchi anime, where you would no doubt be expecting it. I think it's kind of implied that in an ecchi centric anime, fanservice will take top priority. If we're talking something like Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, which isn't an ecchi anime, but where we get the occasional ass shot, wouldn't that be more annoying than going into something like, say, Kiss x Sis, where you know exactly what you're getting into?

Pray tell me, is this a new anime title in the works?

I like fan service but feel it should be applied in certain ways. For example i think fan service is ok in a series during the 2nd series and beyond, OAV's and films based on or from a series. I think it's out of place in a stand alone anime and a series in the first season but don't get me wrong i don't rate anime's based on the amount of fan service that's in it nor do i rate down anime with it in i just think there is a correct way and a incorrect way of using fan service within anime. Does anyone else agree with me ?

I don't mind fan service, but I don't want the entire plot of the series to be some justification for fan service rather than just a few pieces now and then. If they can make a good plot that is not focused around a harem or fan service or some romance love triangle or something along those likes and then squeeze bits of fan service in those series that is fine, otherwise no.

No, fan service doesn't make anime more exciting with ''non boring events''. This is not an opinion.

Ladies and gentlemen I offer you a solution that should help our mental sanity.

Until proven otherwise; assume the person you are speaking to is stupid. I find it cuts down on the surprise/shock/anger a good bit. And yes you should assume I am stupid.

Have to admit, I'm not a fan of fanservice. Really, there have been several animes which seemed like they were really promising, in terms of their universe, but the fanservice was just so extreme that I didn't care to watch the show any more, because it was overriding the actual plot mechanics I was trying to watch.

I wanted the mecha fighting! I wanted the demon spells and super attacks! I quite honestly didn't care about the busty or not busty girls and how they talked about someone in the bath.

If the fanservice added something as a plot point, I'd be fine with it (and have been with several shows, since it can be used in a clever way), but shows that have fanservice as the major carrier, with the stuff I'm actually interested in sidelined.. meh. I'll keep dropping those.

My Ecchi Romantic Comedy Is Surprisingly Lacking In Fanservice, Isn't It?

This needs to be made, haha. Would be a hilarious concept if the protagonist was looking for fanservice but denied at every turn.
