This needs to be made, haha. Would be a hilarious concept if the protagonist was looking for fanservice but denied at every turn.

I'd watch it. I've seen the concept attempted a few times, but I've yet to see it mastered.

Fanservice is the least of my problems in anime.

I don't care if it has fan service or not. A good anime is a good anime. What I judge an anime by is it being able to finish. Not leaving you with so many unanswered plot points. That my fellow anime fans is the most annoying thing of all. Which is why I love animes like fairytail it makes plot points and then goes into them instead of forcing you to buy manga if you want to know, which for a few of them you either read scanatalators or understand Japanese writing.

To me, fanservice is definitely a part of certain anime, provided there is a reason for the producers to make a scene like that. I can almost certainly accept it in the context of a show like Urusei Yatsura, where the main protagonists are a lecherous high school student who has a bad luck streak a mile wide and his "wife", a cutesy alien girl with features resembling the Japanese oni and a tigerskin bikini. It can also be seen in just about every other anime that I recall from the 1980s and 1990s. It only gets a little distracting when the fanservice is the plot (or what passes for it).

That being said, I'm really kind of turned off when people equate nude scenes in which a character has a reason to be shown naked (such as bathing, getting caught undressed, etc) with the kind of fanservice you see in smut/ecchi stories. There is a difference.

I like fanservice and I'm not ashamed about it. I don't even mind if it's not directed towards me, like the fanservice in Free and Prince of Stride which is mostly directed towards female viewers.
But that analogy someone here said about chocolate covered crud-cake is on point. It won't make bad anime any better. And as long as it doesn't actually feel like a detriment or feel out of place, it's fine by me.

Exactly. Much better than those idiotic religious debate troll threads

I wonder how did fanservice turn from fanservice like zero no tsukaima Season 2 Ep1 and the extra episode of MS-08 team to fap material.

As far as fap material is concerned as long as its not junk like girls bravo and 3/4 of sakura kiss I'm generally ok with. Sekeion no quasar and freezing is full of fap material but it fits the series and is fun so I can enjoy them.

I think people should complain. Good fan service is important. Bad fan service could be deadly. It could cause fires, injure children and pets, it's just dangerous. You only want your fan to be serviced properly.

If its distasteful and has no meaning other than to show off nakedness, then I can understand.
