*raises hand*

It has its fans, and those of us who are left are very devoted. Hell, I got my PS1 back in '99 because of that game. Not only that, but I met the young lady who ended up becoming my wife because we were both big fans of the game. ... So I'm a little biased, haha. The game itself hasn't aged too well in several regards, but it's still fun (if you know the right ways to Junction; otherwise, it's a pain in the ass).

I just didn't care for really any of its game play. It just didn't feel like a fun game to me, for one reason or another. The characters felt bland and the story was ok-ish...

But, well, you like it and that's good. Everyone has an opinion. But how do you feel it stacks up to some of the other Final Fantasy games?

I may not be the best person to ask, since my top three favorites in the series are (in this order) 4, 2, and 8, and since I am of the general opinion that the series after FFX is generally not worth considering (with a possible exception for FFXII, which is at least half a good game). I absolutely loathe all the iterations of FFXIII, if that tells you anything.

FF7 and the majorit of the Tales games definelty.

I like Vesperia and the SNES Phantasia games though.
Also all of the elderscroll games even if I think Morrowind was a great game.

FF8 has a huge fan basis though.I loved game and even played it again recently and still really enjoyed it.
FF8's only sin in the eyes of people who usually dont like it is coming out after the overhyped shit FF7 and being a bit too easy.

A pretty cool One Piece adventure game, named as Pirate King(JoyGames.me). I'm very like playing the game. I like the game, with unique RPG gameplay and magic game scene.

Do very many people even like Final Fantasy VIII? I've mainly only met people that found it tolerable, at best.

Disc 1: 9/10
Disc 2: 7/10
Disc 3: 5/10
Disc 4: 2/10

So in other words I really enjoyed it at 1st.

Not sure if anyone has even heard of this RPG but I'm putting it out there to make sure nobody makes the mistake of trying to play it. It's terrible.

Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea.
Its gameplay is a knockoff of a Pokemon game and the gameplay becomes repetitive, there's no objective, you wonder about the game wondering where to go until hours later you find where you're supposed to go. Also I found this to be a flaw but there is no map for this game. You simply have to figure out where everything is and hope you don't get lost.

I hated this game and will not go back to it. I'll include a gameplay screenshot if I can find one.

Persona... pick one. They're all equally terrible.

No love for VI? It barely beats out IV, in my opinion, but I agree that IV was a great Final Fantasy.

VI was way too easy. I love the characters, the beautiful staging of the world, and the music, but while replaying it I became frustrated because literally every character could one-shot a normal enemy for most of the game. Bosses take a few more hits but aren't really challenging. This was all with nearly no grinding. The only remotely challenging areas are the Phoenix Cave, the Floating Continent, Cyan's dream, and the Tower of the Magi. Smartly using Gau and Celes renders most of the game unloseable.

I didn't notice this on my first playthrough because I was having too much fun messing around with Relm's Draw/Control and all the other cool stuff the game packs in. I just wish it was as hard as FFV at least.

Pardon the late response, but I list 2, 4, and 8 as personal favorites. This does not mean I do not love 6. Far from it. I feel that 6 is most likely the best in the series, but, unlike 2 and 8, it is pretty widely loved.

VI is one of the greatest games to have ever been created. My younger brother recently got me it on snes (were it was III) and ive been replaying it for the first time in years. Its still amazing.

Actual answer to question. Final Fantasy VII is I guess but im coming around to it. Im not an oblivion fan I guess. Most modern Western RPGs are okay but cant match some of the classic CRPGs of the 90s.

I tried to like Mass Effect... I really did. I bought the entire collection for PS3 before I re-joined the PC Master Race. By the start of 3, I was so bored to tears that I turned it off and started playing the FFX remaster (which, aside from its very obvious flaws, was infinitely more fun than any of the Mass Effect entries). At *best* its a lore-deep sci-fi semi-rpg with decent character development. At worst, its a below average third person shooter that sold itself on carrying over story aspects from the game you just finished... and PG nudity.

But the Mako was fun right?
