Ha ha its kind of funny when you think about it. Something like anime , people would fight for and yet more important things we just let happen. (being screwed over, bad laws, modern day slavery, taxes, etc).

Ya just as guilty as letting that happen as anyone else mate. If half of the people who complained about such things like you do got off their overfeed asses this world would be a paradise

If it were illegal, I don't think we'd have as awesome anime studios like we do today...and therefore, I probably wouldn't partake.

If it were suddenly made illegal...then I guess watch illegally, but it'd really stifle the production of anime, granted there's plenty to go around.

I can live without it, so I probably wouldn't do anything. I've gone through periods already where I haven't watched anime for a good while, so I think I can endure it.

To quote Henry David Thoreau

Must the citizen ever for a moment, or in the least degree, resign his conscience to the legislator? Why has every man a conscience, then? I think that we should be men first, and subjects afterward. It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right. The only obligation which I have a right to assume is to do at any time what I think right.

I would civilly disobey.

Well let's see here I got a Type 99 Long Rifle, a M1 Garand, a Kar98k, a SKS, a C14 Timberwolf , A longbow, enough chemicals to produce 8 kilos of C4, oh and two tours of combat under my belt...What do you think I would do?

*sigh* Ranwolf, my fellow military veteran, be angry. Angry is O.K., but... let's not take down the world while you're at it.

My solution? Go back to my torrenting ways, except I'll do it in the new don't get caught way of torrenting... Which is not torrenting at all... Let me see, what was it called? Oh yeah, Magnet Links...

Welcome to the NHK, read the book.
Berserk, Manga
Hajime no Ippo, Manga
Gintama, Manga

I'd be okay.

You're weak.

I prefer to look at it this way. How did it go exactly..Anyway the Americans have a saying that when governments are unjust it is a citizen's duty to resist, by force of arms if necessary.

Let's see... One individual wanted to take to the battlefield and mow everything down with ballistics... Two individuals were willing to humbly submit and quietly obey..., while one individual chose to "Civilly disobey."

I pointed out, what in my opinion was the best answer.... Why is that a reason for not having "hypotheticals?" If you think you have a better solution, then by all means don't feel you can't present it. By all means, present! It is what free speech is all about.

The power of free speech is the power of freedom, or the power to be enslaved. If you give up your freedom, and choose to be enslaved, it was within your power to do it! If you chose to disobey, to make your statement, then you have made your statement, and you've been heard. If you chose to send rounds down range. You'll be heard too, but in the end much would also be destroyed. It is why that option must be carefully considered before exercising it.

I happen to think that sending rounds down range is a valid answer, but only as a last and final resort. To me, absolute obedience is also the same as absolute submission, and an absolute surrendering of your individual freedoms. I am not one to submit. I choose creative disobedience to get my point across. In the end if my point is not understood. Then I still have the option of sending rounds down range.

You too, have options. Nothing was taken from you. Feel free to exercise your options.
