I watched a lot of cartoons till I was drafted at 18 in 1970.
I ended up in Seoul, Korea for 18+ months. On my next 3 day pass went to
Tokyo and was introduced to anime on Sat morning.
The graphics and animation got me. I had never seen anything
like it before.

Was a huge fan of DBZ and Pokemon as a kid. I probably read what anime meant on the internet at a time and just put two and two together you know.

A long time ago, in my preteens a girl I was friends with, before I moved, introduced me to it.

Basically came across Toonami back in the day. Watching DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Sailor Moon, etc. Kind of stopped watching anime after graduating high school, but a few years ago, a friend of mine told me about High School of the Dead, and how fan service that series was. Then proceeded to tell me to watch it. I watched it, then it got me wanting to watch other shows.

I used to watch Robotech and Starblazers with my brother after school. The internet didn't exist then so it was hard to come by anything anime. Throughout high school anime was non-existent for me then later in college years, me and my buddy used to drive to SF to a anime shop and get anime bootlegs from japan which they copied off of a laserdisc. That opened the door for more anime. Then here we are today.

When I started to talk to my girlfriend I realized she really likes anime so I decided to start watching it. I always thought anime was really stupid, but after my friend lend me his DVD of Deathnote and I fell in love with it.

From then on my addiction grew...

Been watching anime since the days of Evangelion. I used to have DirectTV and while channel surfing (damn I feel old), I came upon a channel called Locomotion. It was The absolute SHIT, they eventually had cowboy bebop, ranma 1/2, Robotech, as well as many other non anime shows. I was definitely too young for it, but fuck it. Been watching on and off for my entire childhood, adolescence and adulthood, now more than before because of the internet.
