Hi guys :)

Naruto Shippudden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 has proven itself worthy to be called

the king of anime fighting games.

However, It is going to face a rival that it based on the same anime that has been a rival to the

Naruto anime and manga in One Piece: Burning Blood.

But Burning Blood needs to do a lot more then just be an eye candy to the fans of One Piece

to beat the king of anime games.

Here are the things that Burning Blood needs to do:

1- Bring a huge number of characters:

The Naruto Series has been known to have a huge roster for the game, with the last game having over

100 characters, Burning Blood needs to have at least the same number of characters that Ultimate Ninja Storm 4

had.

2- Bring a mixture of characters:

One of the things that I consider nitpick is the lack of characters like Yahiko and Zetsu, both or one was

present in pervious versions of the series.

Burning Blood needs to have a very very good mixture of characters from important ones to least

important ones with many versions of the character.

3- A great fighting system:

the Ultimate Ninja Storm series had great battle system and no matter how many times you feel that

it’s repetitive you still say “but it’s fun”.

Burning Blood needs to achieve the same level of gameplay, or surpass it.

So far, the features that were rumoured gives Burning Blood the advantage of being a good game

that expected to come out, put it needs to hit the last nail on the coffin and make itself

a great game.

4- It own graphics = It own identity:

If Burning Blood came with the exact same fighting system as Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, then

this will be a minor problem, but it needs to have a different kind of graphics.

Because if it did then it will have it own unique identity as a game.

It it rumoured that it will use a graphics system that makes similar to the manga and anime.

That great, but it must not get close to the graphics of J Stars Victory VS +, because I will

be honest, no matter how cool was it to see all of those characters in one game, the game play and

the graphics themselves were not to my liking.

If Burning Blood needs to find success in the graphics department, it HAS to stay as far as

possible from those of J Stars Victory VS +.

5- Finish scenes and before and after fight dialogue:

One of the great features that the Ultimate Ninja Storm series brought was the finish scenes and

the after the fight dialogue, Burning Blood needs to bring this feature to its game along with

a before the fight dialogue.

6- Adapt the anime to the game as a story line.

One of the things that the Ultimate Ninja Storm series had and used was the anime as a story mode

with each version of the series covers a part of the anime. If Burning Blood wants to add a

story mode, it needs to either adapt the anime and uses it the same way as the Ultimate Ninja Storm series

did, or come up with an interesting story that can have multiple sequels for the franchise.

Personally, the first option is the better.

These are my thoughts and ideas of what One Piece: Burning Blood needs to do to be a great

anime game franchise and surpass the Ultimate Ninja Storm series.

What do you think ?

Do you agree or disagree with me ?

And what do you think Burning Blood should do to surpass the Ultimate Ninja Storm series ?

I am hype for this game as well and definitely agree with some and disagree with others; I'll quote your points to better articulate my response.

1- Bring a huge number of characters:

The Naruto Series has been known to have a huge roster for the game, with the last game having over

100 characters, Burning Blood needs to have at least the same number of characters that Ultimate Ninja Storm 4

had.

I have to disagree with this point because this game already has a huge number of characters, especially for it's first installment. Naruto Storm 1 only had 25 characters, so far Burning Blood has 36 with more to be announced in the next month until release plus possible DLC. Naruto's storm series had to got through 7 games if you include things like full burst to get to that point in the roster. Not to mention that the game had a lot of copy characters (like 5 narutos, 4 Sasukes, 4 Obitos, 2 choji ect.) with none of the moves ever really changing. The game has already been advertised to have a ton of characters in the form of playable or support but exspecting 100 on the first go is asking too much. Nearly 40 characters right now is plenty. But of course with a series as diverse as One Piece there will of course be people dissaponted with the roster if a few favorites doin't make it in. I myself want Bellamy, Bege, Carribou, and CP9, but I can deal with Fujitora, Sanji, and Moria as well.

I agree and I think Burning Blood is doing very wel, we have the straw hat crew, Jozu, Crocodile, Fujitora, Drake, Sengoku and more all of them are very diverse and unique. Zetsu would have been cool in Storm games, I mean Iruka made it in so why not him? I don't think characters need different slots for the same one I mean just pressing R1 lets you be timeskip or present day versions of the character, saves space.

I also agree, if the game isn't fun then regardless of fan service it wont last (Looking at you, J-stars!) Naruto had more than just repetitive gameplay going against it though; for starters balancing was horrible, Mask Man, Krin Sasuke, Deidara, Danzo ect were crazy, in addition substitutions were kinda unbalanced at first. I feel Burning Blood will be more balanced but so far nothing is stopping you from spamming, at least the storm series has chakara, if you look at the 45 min gameplay for Burning Blood characters spam techniques like red hawk or flame fist without any drawbacks. However the system if haki, logia guard, stat ailments, flash guards and 3 on 3 battles makes it very interesting. It has the right ideas but will likely take another game to perfect them.

Agreed and again I think Burning Blood does this well, it does not look like J-stars at all, J-stars was going for more of a next gen 3D look, Burning Blood is going for characters coming out of the manga look. Look at Luffy in J-stars and compar him to Luffy in Burning Blood:

5- Finish scenes and before and after fight dialogue:

One of the great features that the Ultimate Ninja Storm series brought was the finish scenes and

the after the fight dialogue, Burning Blood needs to bring this feature to its game along with

a before the fight dialogue.

Burning Blood has these, each character and even teams have unique dialogue to say to each other, there are even dramtic finishes for when a character is beat with a special move and of course they say something after the fight including special dialogue depending on who you fight.

The developers said they are going strictly for a manga feel for this game so it will not having any anime-relating characters or story (Film Z, Borundi World, Strong World ect.) The story arc, unfortunately from what was shown if going to be Marineford, but another source said it would start from the beginning until the end of Dressrossa.

I think in time the One Piece series can surpass Storm, but it needs good online, that is what makes or breaks most modern fighting games and why Storm 4 is getting so much flack, well that and the lack of sound 4, 7 ninja swordsman and Toneri lol. But if the gameplay is good and the online is great then yes it can.
