A lot of people complain about fanservice.. I mean I sure as hell do, it bothers me, I'm just trying to enjoy the good plot not "pleasure" myself. So let's say manga just stopped with it. No panty shots, tits flying, it's just done. Would you mind?

it's not fanservice itself which is the issue. rather, it's overdone fanservice that detracts from the story/plot
example: a plot-centric series having 12 episodes, and 3-4 focusing on blatant fanservice. because there's less episodes for the actual plot,
the whole thing is rushed, and the final product looks tasteless at best.

They would become to try being too serious, and boring.. while less action (some don't need that) but most can't do without.
Even though it would be great with some more slower and being a bit more like bleach I guess that has it quite mixed out? (from talking to action and development)
while naruto and HxH focus more on characters and how they develop (what in bleach was more about the main character except in development?)

I would be very sad. I happen to like just about very in anime and i love anime so much, i love fan service i like panty shots and the tits flying everywhere, but thats not the only reason why i like anime of course i like a good story and plot but for me fan service makes it more interesting and pleasurable to watch.

Now every anime doesn't have or need fan service like EREASED it doesn't need it there's no place for it in the anime that anime is about the story and nothing else, but other anime's like konosuba need fan service (really liked the newest episode A LOT) to me it feeds my desires and to me that's what anime is about to feed your desires (not just sexual desires) and give you an escape from the world (I happen the find the world we live in boring and crappy so that's good).

Exactly, not all animes need fan service but the ones that do have it which are most would be terribly boring without. Fan service is fun service.

Anime without fan service would be like going to school where everything is really strict and it has a dress code where everyone wears a dull boring grayish lame clothes, there's no fun involved and you won't enjoy being there.

I don't even notice fanservice. It's usually done and gone in like 2 seconds. I did see (and didn't finish) one anime that was very fanservice heavy but I feel like it's just its own genre so it doesn't offend or annoy me or anything.

I would be disappointed because I, for one, enjoy the fanservice in Anime as long as its not forced into the series - What I mean is that if a series has to make a scene so outrageous it would not even work in the Anime world then I just feel it cheapens the scene (yes I know some of you will say "How can a nude scene be cheapened)

I remember answering a similar thread, but my viewpoint is I don't mind fan-service so long as the anime itself is not all about fan-service to the point where there is no plot beyond building a harem or pointless fan-service. To answer the question if it was gone, it's not the reason I watch anime so I wouldn't mind, but if we are being real it will never go away.

I don't really care about fanservice much, but I would prefer to pay attention to actually what's going on rather than boobs or butts all over the screen. I say fanservice really should only belong to those moe anime, and stay out of action anime.

I am not bothered by fanservice, and sometimes a bit is needed to prevent a plot from becoming to serious or dull so I would hate to see it go. I am not watching anime for fanservice personally, but I am by no means bothered by it. If an anime has too much fanservice, I just move on. It isn't for me, but I am sure plenty of others will enjoy it. I have just always considered it to be a normal part of anime. I would hate to see everything become too serious

It doesn't matter to me either way. I like my anime, whether it has fan service of not. Simple as that.

That is the sole problem with fanservice. It's not the fact it is there, but the poor execution!

Just look at To-Love-Ru. It's pure fanservice! Panty shots, breast grab, naked girls, sexually suggestive scenes everywhere... yet I never see people complaining about it!

That's because To-Love-Ru executes the fanservice perfectly and manages to integrate it within the plot! Right off the bat the manga states it is a fanservice manga, so it doesn't feel like the service is taking space that could be used for the plot!

The fanservice is also used to move the plot forward and/or establish a character's personality or relationship with others. All characters recognize Rito's unnatural ability to undress and/or grab girls when tripping, and their talks revolve around that habit of his!

The service doesn't get on the way of the plot either. Since each chapter has almost 40 pages, the author can balance a good amount of plot, action and service (sometimes mixing all of them)!

As TvTropes says, "tropes are not bad". It's not the tool you utilize, it's how you utilize it. I wouldn't want To-Love-Ru or Mahou Sensei Negima without any less fanservice than each one has, but animes like Queen's Blade or Seikon no Qwaser just go too far in my opinion!
