The insult "Get a life" & "You'll never have a life"
Posted 3/13/16 , edited 3/13/16
Alright let's dive into this.

Recently the people I live with are consistently telling me to "get a life" or "You'll never have a life".

These terms really piss me off from the hypocritical people they come from.

For example, My mother has always said how I'm so useless I'll never get a job etc. However whenever I clean I go on for hours making it a well done and finished cleaning yet when she even ATTEMPTS to get a project done she ends up saying "Oh I give up this will never be clean" Yet... I'll be forced to end up cleaning it in the future.

This really annoys me because they act as if they are a main character as if everything bad or good happens them and them only. I suppose its only fair they act that way really considering the perspective this reality gives to everyone is somewhat of a main character perspective.

Back on the topic they also like to keep to the lesson of "Only do things for yourself" Yet again more hypocritical things that adds to the list of things these people I live with do considering I have to be forced to do all their work which makes me sound like a main character due to all the things happening to myself.

EDIT: I also have to make things for them apparently and go out of my way to bring them the remote to the TV that is a tiny bit out of their arm reach... I hate these people so much -.-

I find this really annoying as well that these people don't know how tech has evolved and that whenever I want to pursue something like making a game or learning coding they make me get distracted by forcing me to clean up after their own pathetic life style.

I want to ask you all. What the hell should I even do in this situation.

I'm stuck with people I despise and overall hate the things they force me to do.

Hopefully I'm going to get a job in a month from now when I'm able too hopefully not have my social awkwardness kick in.

Hell I've even been tempted to yell off my quote on my profile however that has yet to happen considering I have no real choice but to keep staying with these freaks until I'm able to leave.

Sorry about annoying you all with this rant I just want to know.

What instances have you had with people saying get a life?

What do you think of that?

What should I do?

So what happened when you told those people what you just told me?

For example:

"You tell me to do things but you abandon that kind of job yourself and I end up doing it"

............and so on

If I we're to tell them I was talking about how much they annoy me with their giving up all the time then they would simply continue to force things upon me that are their projects.

I'm not giving up unlike them on a job I'm asking for suggestions on how I should survive these next few years and other peoples experience with similar instances.

I don't know about you but in my family/culture we have to do everything that our older family members tell us to do... so I've been a servant for my whole life. I'm kind of okay with it to be honest. I'm a cleaner, washer, shopper, fetch-me-this-er, edit my resume-er, write my college essay-er... pretty much do it all

First off, you are 15. The people you lived with are your parents. Get used to it. Secondary, if you are into computers. Show them how much the field makes. That should shut them up.

Then remind her that she can't call you useless because you're absolutely being useful in getting done the stuff that she totally fails in doing............

Of course, you'd have to find gentler ways of putting it.

The point being that you survive by getting them to cut down their rhetoric by showing how stupid their rhetoric is.

Someone telling me that I have no life is a statement, not an insult.

He's correct to some degree.

As for the person mentioning they are a slave essentially I relate with that feeling.

However I was hesitant to post this entire conflict because of my age.

When you're young of age people won't expect much.
