It's much easier to understand the anime then the book because of all the terms and stuff. The anime is pretty and the characters are really accurate and it describes things better. However the book is much longer and goes into more detail then anime so if you want to continue with Junni Kokki definetely try the books. The book and the anime similarities are about 65%. In the book, for instance there is no Sugimoto or Asano, Yoko does everything by herself. Yoko also meets Queen Sou and I bet in the book Yoko will proabably meet all the queens and kings (she didn't in the anime). The first book is on the first Arc as Yoko becomes a Queen. Fuyumi Ono (the author) has already put out Volume 1 and Volume 2 will be out March 11, 2008. However the only down side to this is that there are about 8 novels and the publishers will only put out ONE BOOK A YEAR. However definetely read the book AFTER you watch the anime (it you know the terms and the yohma and stuff, the books flows a heck of a lot better) but the book satisfies my Junni Kokki obsession a lot too. Trust me you won't regret reading the book it answers a lot of questions and isnt't boring at all.

Thanks for all that information Sarah, its just want I wanted to know =)
I liked the anime but I really like the depth books go into. Its understandable when a novel is converted they take things out or add them to make certain events make sence.
Im gonna watch the whole series again, then on to Amazon to buy the first book
