I'll try to make this brief. To The Moon is an indie sci-fi RPG game developed inside the RPG Maker engine, then published by Freebird Games. Kan Gao, the director of Freebird Games, is mainly responsible for everything when creating the game. He and Laura Sugihara, who made the music in Plants vs. Zombies, composed the music for To The Moon.

See? I did a pretty good job at that, so let's get on with the juicy stuff: the story. This is a rather unique story, one with a premise that I have never heard before within the realms of science fiction. To the Moon entails the journey of two doctors traversing through a patient's memories in order to fulfill his dying wish: to fly to the moon. Yet the patient, Johnny Wyles, does not remember exactly why he wants to go to the moon in the first place. All he knows is that his subconscious begs him to take ahold of this wish and achieve it through Dr. Rosaline and Dr. Watts's efforts. What these doctors specialize in though, is creating artifical memories that can replace his original memories. In other words, it's essentially a second chance at life. And as the plot gradually begins to unravel its threads, the entire motivation behind Johnny's subconscious desire to go to the moon begins to click.

Welp. That was too much for me. Anyways, the gameplay elements in the game are very minimal. They mostly comprise of solving puzzles and pointing-and-clicking to tell which direction you want Rosaline and Watts to go to. However, nobody comes for the gameplay, but they come for the experience.

I wholeheartedly recommend this game. You guys can discuss about it here, too!

I remember playing this game a long time ago. Unfortunately my save data was lost in a computer crash, and I never did play it again. I remember it being wonderfully fun and beautiful though. Intriguing storyline too. Never overlook indie games, that's for sure!

If I may ask, how far did you get until your computer crashed?

Mmmm I'm not totally sure... Ok, pulled up a walkthrough to see if that would jog my memory a bit. I think I made it to about Memory 9 or so. (http://www.gameboomers.com/wtcheats/pcTt/ToTheMoon/tothemoon.htm). Kind of want to play it again now after having reviewed that, haha.
