I moved this to the Anime forum, but I'm curious how you decided that most anime singers are female. I myself have not been keeping count, but I feel like I've heard a lot of opening and ending songs performed by male vocalists. Also while there may be a lot of anime showing female performers as characters, I can easily think of several off the top of my head where the performers are men.

So I guess what I'm saying is, I'm questioning the premise that most anime singers are female.

You think so RedExodus? I've heard my fair share of openings and endings sang by males tbh.
Just to name a couple:
Burnout syndromes - Fly High!! (Haikyuu!!)
GRANRODEO - Can Do (Kuroko no Basuke)
Flow - Go!!! (Naruto)
MAN WITH A MISSION - Raise Your Flag (Mobile Suit GUNDAM Iron Blooded Orphans)

etcetc.

those are shounen shows though, especially naruto
go anywhere else except reverse harem and it feels like im only hearing female singers
even seinen shows tend to be girly lol

I did say "just to name a couple", here I found you a video with 100 openings sang by males, must be something non-shounen in there for you, right?:P

Then again, you just stated anime in general.. so I don't really see what your point is about them being shounen tbh ^.^

well shounen is like 50/50 male/female

everywhere else is far more than 50% female out of the over 10,000 anime series there are
this is a thing in anime games too

when was the last time u heard a male song in a predominately female show as opposed to the male shows having both?

First one that came to mind is the opening from Diabolik Lovers, "Mr. sadistic night".

EDIT: After thinking about it a bit more, here's some more I just thought of:
Ryuuji Aoki - Biran no Kaze (Donten ni Warau)
ON OFF - Futatsu no Kodou to Akai Tsumi (Vampire Knight)
JP - Boku ni Invitation (Shirokuma Cafe)
Tanizawa Tomofumi - Kimi ni Todoke (Kimi ni Todoke)

What do you mean by "predominantly female"? Shows that appear to have a primarily female audience? Shows that have mostly female characters? Shows that have female characters that are the main character (but aren't reverse harems)...

Basically, anime is geared towards guys, and guys love to hear female singing. But in terms of singers, I see it as being 60-40 than something like 80-20 seeing that theme songs are there to promote CD sales.

When reading this thread I am reminded of the Monty Python sketch, "What have the Romans ever done for us?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc7HmhrgTuQ

I have another genre to add to the list - Romance Anime will often have an opening sung by one gender and the close sung by the other. For example, My Love Story and Chihayafuru.

You need to provide some backing for your original claim, I think.

Offhand I'd say it seems like a pretty even split between the two - no, I don't limit my viewing to reverse harem and Bleach.

Incidentally, the only song I actually took away from Bleach had a female vocalist, too.

I have heard as many male as I have female in anime openings. The majority of YuGiOh openings are all male.
I make a huge list with male vocal openings.
