What anime, manga, game have you gotten recently? Whether you bought it, or it was given as a gift. Talk about it, here. With or without pictures. Why'd you get what you did? Is it a series you've seen before and wanted to get for a long time? Or is it something you've not seen before?

I'll start:

I'm rebuilding my physical media library of anime I lost for - reasons... In any case, here's some of my most recent purchases. I've been on a buying spree... I just got these in the mail the other day.

From Robert's Anime Corner Store:

Midori Days: I've seen it back when Fan subbers used to stream their shows on the Internet (not you tube). I liked it so much, I bought it (then I lost it, but just recently bought it again). I ask many pardons for the crappiness of my photography.

Opening the box, I found these items inside:

From Right Stuf Anime:

Full Metal Panic. I watched a few of the episodes of FUMOFU over the Internet, again back when fan subbers used to stream their subbed stuff (not Youtube). Then I bought Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid (and lost those, but then again just got them, plus FUMOFU).

Opening the box, I found these inside:

I've been buying digital volumes of Food Wars to bridge the gap between where Season 1 anime ended and where Weekly Shonen Jump picked it up back in November 2014. Here's the latest (English Translation) volume cover.

Volume 11 should be the last one I need; comes out April 5

I also magically received a t-shirt. I know I didn't buy it so it's probably a freebie I forgot about either for renewing my WSJ subscription or for buying Food Wars volumes.

I guess nobody buys anime or manga, nor receives it as a gift anymore?

Samurai Champloo vol. 1 and 2, Citrus vol. 1 (because there isn't enough shoujo ai in my life), Yu Yu hakusho vol. 9 - 11, and Norigami vol. 1 (which I got again in loot anime later that month....).

I was going to finish buying the last eight Yu Yu manga, but I had to take my kittens to the vet, so extra funds are gone. I don't know why I never bothered sooner; I've been a fan of that show since Toonami began airing it back in 2002.

I seldom buy anime dvds, but I love manga. I'm in the process of completing Natsume Yuujinchou, Tokyo Ghoul, Drifters, The Ancient Magus Bride, Sakamoto, Demon Prince of the Momochi House, Dorohedoro, and Eden: It's an Endless World. Of course some of these are still being released, so it will be a while.

No, I never receive manga is a gift. ;p I'm reading Shiki, Murcielago, Noblesse, and Bungou Stray Dogs online.

Some manga I buy because I loved the anime so much I need more. Occasionally it's just whimsy as a bookstore, if the art and plot look appealing. Though I love bookstores (especially used ones) they're usually limited in selection and they're dwindling in number these days, so I do a lot of shopping online. It's rare, but does happen that I get a recommended item online and actually think it's worth a look. I do own anime, but only series that I fell completely in love with. I imagine if there were still stores like FYE hanging around that would be different for me, but there really aren't.

Ohhh, my Samurai Champloo manga came with those rightstuf sticky notes too. Lol.

Some of the recent manga I have bought would include, Solanin, A Girl on the Shore, Azumanga Daioh, and Alice in Murderland. Some that I will be getting soon-ish would be Nichijou, and The Ancient Magus Bride vol. 4. Although I'm really looking forward for the May releases, Yotsuba vol. 13 and Until Death do us Part vol. 12.

I have been picking up some feature films that I hope the kids will enjoy. Just recently I picked up The Wind Rises, My Neighbor Totoro, and Kiki's Delivery Service (sometimes it can be a struggle to find appropriate films or series with them).

I also just purchased several Manga, Death Note Vol 6-8 and Fairy Tail Vol 1 & 2.

I´ve been wanting to collect manga for a long time, but it has been a while since I bought a manga. The last one I bought was Fullmetal Alchemist but I still haven´t bought the whole series. I´m looking forward to get The Seven Deadly Sins and Berserk once I get all the volumes for FMA

I recently started One Piece again, which is awesome, I have no idea why I stopped reading. Beyond that it's mostly just been Arslan and Onepunch man lately.

I really liked the Natsume Yuujinchou anime. However, towards the last episodes, it started getting BL-ish and it started to go sour for me, but overall, I really liked that show. I'm looking forward to seeing those when the anime comes out for those two shows. I think the "Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto." anime is going to be a laugh riot based on the little preview we got when it was announced. Samurai Champloo was on my to watch list for years. I fear it may be some years, yet, before I actually get to watch it. There's just too many other good shows... You know?

I'm doing that with Naruto and Bleach anime. I'm stuck on season 14 of Bleach, and I'm over 40 episodes behind on Naruto... I guess I need to cut back on watching some of the other ones, to make time for those two again. I like those two shows a lot, but I've just been watching other stuff...

I picked up Trinity Seven vol.4 and The Ancient Magus' Bride vols.1-3 in the past 2 weeks. I'm going to keep getting them until I have the lot.

The latter being the best manga I have read for a while in terms of just pure story.

Yeah, I mean I enjoyed it through to the end, but I imagine they might make more. It's a fairly long manga series with 19 books so far and ongoing, so there's always potential. Yeah, Sakamoto will probably be a good laugh. I only have the first manga. I saw that the second is already translated but I haven't gotten around to it.

It shouldn't be. Samurai Champloo is is a superb anime and it's definitely a 10/10 for me. You won't regret it once you start. It's made by the same development team as Cowboy Bebop, and there are a lot of similar elements.
