Short and sweet: I like writing cause it is about the only thing I am decently good at.

I got my blog and then some actual stories I have written.

Currently (though it is on hold) working on a novel.

I like it! Yeah, writing is the only thing that I am fairly good at too.

I like writing because it's just one of those few things that gives me an adrenaline rush and makes me super happy. I know I'm a good writer too, because my teachers have inspired me as well as the many novels and series I've read. I'm too shy to share my stuff though, but I mainly like to write fiction with comedy/action/romance/slice of life kind of themes. I think anime also inspired me to write too But it's one of those things I know I have a talent for but can't make a career out of because one: I'm too shy to share stuff, and two: it's a highly competitive business for my genre of writing.

I've tried Wattpad but have not gotten any recognition, and it seems like the only online writing people care about are blogs and fanfictions. Reading is become more dead, and it's kind of sad.

I've been writing since 2nd grade (so 7 years old), and I went from writing 200 notebook pages (I went through 5 notebooks once for just one story) to just using word processors (because my hands start to cramp and I have terrible handwriting). I don't have as much free time since I'm busy with college, but it's always been a hobby and a source of therapy for me. I'm working on a story now that's along the lines of comedy/slice of life... maybe romance? I like to add romantic elements but it's not always a guarantee that a romantic relationship will happen... maybe they'll just end up being good friends lol

But I also like to use similes/metaphors/hyperboles/symbolism a lot, as well as fucking cussing. But I can also be civilized... I have a story I've been writing that's gothic/magic/medieval/adventure and I like where it's going so far. I'm really passionate about writing, if only it could be my main source of income... But I've never shared anything besides if it was a class assignment...

I've been working on a fiction novel for about a year and a half now. At the start, I knew next to nothing about proper writing. Anytime I look back at the old copies of the chapters, I cannot help but cringe at how terrible they are. I learned a little bit more every so often, things like different dialogue structures, how adverbs are bad for you, how to show and not tell, etc. I love that learning experience in it, for one. The other things I like about it are its personal aspects. I don't exactly remember who said this quote, but "Being a writer is like showing your ass to the world." and they're right. Putting it out there for even one person to read is a rather intimate thing. They get to read some of your innermost thoughts and fantasies come to life in the story. You shape the characters either after yourself or others you know well, so that's extremely personal too. I know all of my characters are based off aspects of myself I hate or love and some are based off aspects of others I aspire to, loathe, or idolize. And to use all of that to make someone feel excitement, suspense, joy, fear, etc, it's got a power of its own.

As for the imaginative part of it, I've got plenty to work with. I've always had an active imagination and always loved stories of all kinds in any medium. I've got plans for at least six novels in a series, with a possibility of three extra when I come up for ideas for them.

But I think the thing I like most of all is creating something good and worthwhile (hopefully) for once in my life. Everyone in my family has a talent or passion. I mean, my older sister is a professional artist that's gotten some serious recognition. I want to be like that. I want to inspire with what I write. One of the most gratifying moments in my experience in writing is having someone I let read my story (or rather, what's completed of it at the time) draw fan art of one of my characters she really loved (really good fan art, I might add). Everyone I let read my writing says it's amazing or really well done and I can't help wanting more of that, that feeling of pride and accomplishment. I won't stop until I'm picked up by an official publisher. And really, if you knew my personal life, you'd know I've got no other avenue of a future than this. So I'm either a career writer or a corpse in the ground. Those are my only two endings.

A few words of advice to my fellow writers, forget self-publishing. There's no future, no money, and no hope in that path. What you need is the same as any other art form, practice. That's how I am where I am. Practice, research, and don't let anyone or anything discourage you! It's your path, your dream! Take up your arms of pencil or keyboard or typewriter and charge forward with all your heart!

Hmmmm. Mine is deeply personal and not for the faint of heart. It started as a form of escapism from child abuse, in the belief and hope that one day I could go on wonderful adventures and do all kinds of things just like those people in my books I read. It is also how patially, I taught myself, without any textbooks etc. most of the time. I guess an easier answer, and the answer true for the current day, is that it calms me down, and I love writing a story that might make someone laugh, or give them a beautiful (even if it is sad or somber) feeling at the end. Sometimes, its just for me, just for me to write stuff out, to write out feelings and dreams that I never knew existed, and then all of a sudden it turns into a beautiful story. Other times, I write a story inspired by an event, someone else's story, or a random object I see or something because I want to help them in some way. In doing so I hope to make the world a beautiful and better place. I write all kinds of things though, from focusing on protests and civil rights issues to lots of fantasy and science fiction. I guess, in the end, I was just born to create

we are same. I also enjoy the idea of using my imaginations to create a world for my story, it feels like I'm a God. I can make a story anything I want and what would it become, sad ending or happy ending. I really want to become a novelist, I dont care how much the price for my novels, I just want my novels could publish and everyone who bought it never be regret and happily to have it.

I write mostly fanfiction as a hobby. Although my updates are slow as a snail (though I try my hardest not too), I really enjoy it for the fun and creativity and my mind is always at work on the scenarios for my fics since I'm terrible at pre-written plans. Not to mention I write as I go and think of the major key elements along the way. I tried to do an original story once on fictionpress then realise I only prefer original storylines for fanfiction. There's a Legend of Zelda of mine that is an example of this trope. I guess you could say that I had the potential since I was a kid as I found more creativity in writing rather than drawing, which I suck at! Funny thing is that I'm deviantART too.

I like to write because it's an art form that I'm good at. I also like creating worlds that don't exist and I take absolute joy in explaining places, be it real or imaginary. Sometimes I enjoy sitting in a room such a dive bar and thinking about how I would write it for others to enjoy. I love words, especially learning them along the way adding to a vocabulary which I take pride in.

Writing is an outlet for my mind to truly play, where the walls of reality don't exist. It's something that no matter what I can't lose, but it is something I can build upon. In the end it's mine, it's unique, and regardless if anyone reads what I write I know that I made it. That is why I like to write.
