Also, I think I understand bits and pieces of DURARA! And I really enjoy the series but can anybody explain to me the overarching theme behind it. Each episode seems in some ways independent from the others. Is it just me?

If it helps you any, FLCL is more or less just a straightforward bildungsroman (coming of age story), one overflowing with bizarre phallic imagery to evoke themes of puberty and such. Honestly Bildungsroman with a lot of sexually charged visual metaphors tends to be Gainax's go to.

C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control
Very complex in my eyes. Had a good time watching it though, but never fully understood that one.

Ghost Hound. Granted I watched it over 10 years ago, but I remember disliking it and not really understanding the point of it.

Shows like that can be tough to understand, especially if you're not familiar with economics and finance.

Yeah, I didn't finish watching it because about half way through I realised I had no idea what was going on and I didn't really care. That said, it was a while ago. I could try it again but I still remember how much I disliked it.

Just like K-On!

*Shots Fired*

Yeah but K-On was actually decent while Glasslip was boring to me at least.

Exactly. Both were about nothing in particular but at least one was actually okay while the other was well not.

i love Mekakucity actors but. i don't understand? i mean they are fun but it's like every moment, when it's about to happen they just skip it and change the whole "story" to the boy who lost their friend. or to the headphone actor. (just forgot the name, i don't care about it.)

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. I should re-watch it because I don't think I really got what the laughing man stuff was about. A lot of his dialogue just went over my head. Though, I haven't watched the series in a long, long time so I probably just forgot stuff.

Zankyou no Terror. I followed the show alright until I think the last episode or so. I don't really know what they were trying to accomplish with the black out and I don't care all that much to know. But if someone wants to fill me in, I'm all ears.

It's a shame, really. I LOVED the character designs in Glasslip, especially since they were done by P.A. Works. Perhaps Glasslip would have worked better if it geared more towards romance instead of drama.

That or a fantasy series. *Imagines Touka using magic glass* That would be cool.

I was following along with the drama bit, but the more they went into the supernatural aspect, the more confusing it got. Chop out the wierd visions, and it would be a serviceable slice of life/drama about kids growing up. As is, the last third of the show is a confusing mess that gets worse the more it tries to explain.
