Does anyone actually understand the film Akira?

I also didn't understand a lot of Rozen Maiden Zuruckspulen. I get the idea of it but the character Kirakishou makes no sense. How can you make a doll without a body?

Also, I think I understand bits and pieces of DURARA! And I really enjoy the series but can anybody explain to me the overarching theme behind it. Each episode seems in some ways independent from the others. Is it just me?

The first time? Or still to this day?

It took me 2 or 3 times to fully understand everything in Paprika.

I don't really get Owarimonogatori.

It took me two times watching the entire series just to understand that FLCL even had a plot.

It's not that hard to understand. A kid develops telekinetic powers and eventually the powers grow to be too much for his body to handle. That's pretty much it.

The Original WTF anime: EVangelion.

Even with End of Evangelion I'm trying to figure out what all was going on.

That's the overall plot. But there's a lot of smaller details in the movie that I don't think anyone actually understands.

Did you watch the other monogatari series' first? The show would be complete nonsense without that context

Bakumonogatori was just as nonsensical.
