No, I don't think there is anything wrong with liking Anime and chilling out occasionally.
As my Grandmother and Mum pointed out when I was worrying about this I could be doing something a lot worse - you could be doing drugs, hurting people, committing crimes or getting yourself in other danger.

As an adult there are not a lot of things that can make you happy. If Anime does it for you, hold on to it and don't let it go regardless of whether people look down their noses at you. A happy person is a healthy person. Some people just don't get how much Anime can help people

I wish you the best of luck!

You're immature for pouting about what your parents say regarding television shows, and for making a sympathy-garnering thread over it. Rest assured, however, that you watching anime has no grounding in maturity.

Bittersweet assurance.

in responce to everyone they say cartoons are for kids and that i should grow up and stop doing kids things.
It can be kid like if you are living like a kid?
But cartoons or any media can go for adults and like.. rule34 and why people like anime so much when you can go deep, maybe deeper on a topic you wouldn't think about?
And would it not be adult like to explore, get experience and well.. grow?
Learning and be able to take more wise decisions.

Again it depends on what you do but like stated above its your free time, its what you want to do (maybe to regian yourself from work and can be heathy so long you don't try to escape into this fantasy world like some of the fathers wanting to be teenage girls.. leaving family etc)

i always liked anime even when i was little me and my cousin would like sailor moon and dragonball growing up my highschool friends we would watch naruto and super sentai even now on occassion one a year maybe two i go to comic con

Sounds to me like your parents need to grow up and have some tolerance.

So you're there because they need you? I think for you to be nice enough to move back in with them and take care of them they could have the decency to appreciate your hobby.

Im 28, married, and have two jobs. TBH my in-laws are very back-handed with me attending cons and cosplaying. We've been married three years going on four and don't have any children. So....needless to say the pressure is on.

Don't let someone delegate how you should live your life and what social standards expect or even society from your relationship with yourself even!

Kick ass and live on!

hehe... -__- but yeah its maybe good to "release yourself" but if what he said about something he has to do then there is something he has to do, or other reasons...none need to move out as to why should one?
But yeah if wanting to start a family it would be great to have a own place no matter what it is to take care of that family you got.
