I say no for two reasons:
1) we have to be better than what we are fighting against, which I think is reason enough, but
2) torture gets responses, sure, but they do not tend to be true, useful, or accurate - instead they in general are simply something to get the torture to stop. Whatever you want to hear, it will be said.

so no why would you?..
all it does is bringing pain and destruction so.. woosh... woosh.. away with this thread.

and it seems like you are quite specific, targeted (innocent) with this.. then I just had to say "fuck it"....

As Makoto said, torture is often not a useful tactic and is generally ineffective. I know it may seem like a fantastic solution after we see it so much on tv and movies, but in the majority of famous cases involving torture, the information was given out before torture was administered or flat out false. There are simply just much better tactics for interrogation that waste less time and resources and brig better results. FBI agents have found it much more effective to use dialogue to get information from terrorists. You throw around a yarn about getting their kids educated, or getting their family safe or just anything like that and they comply. Much better than what you would get out of torture.

Well I have no real issue with torturing camel jockeys. As a source of information and not just punishment torture has limited value , most subjects will simply say whatever they have to in order for the pain to stop. Sometimes you gain useful intel this way but the large majority of terrorists currently in captivity are little more than foot soldiers who know very little of an tactical or strategical value. And what they do know is often out of date.

Torture is such a waste of time. Just kill them.

I don't sympathise with terrorists. That said; I believe that sly interrogation is more reliable.

Too much like a witch trial.
I don't see any point in even talking to them.

If they kill people, they should face the consequences. They had no respect for the human rights of their victims so why should we respect theirs?

against. Torture serve hardly any purpose and we're lowering ourselves to their level. What's the point of fighting if we kill who we are?
