If you subscribe for a subscription service, you need to have at least the amount of money on the card that'd be required to pay for the potential first installment. Maybe you had less on it than was needed for that.

oml... there is money on the card!!! its my mums card. she buys subscriptions for my brother thats like £20 monthly, shes NEVER had a problem with them. she buys shopping, pays the bills. im pretty damn sure she has the money. so it's hardly because she has no money on the actual card cause my mum isn't so broke that she doesn't even have £5.
so whats your next suggestion as to why they won't give me the FREE trial?

It's because the first attempt to buy it failed for some reason. Most likely because the prepaid card provider denied the charge eventually. It failed post creation of the free trial, which is why you can't create another on the same account or with the same card. Did you send us a ticket to /contact yet?

It's a FREE trial there shouldn't be a charge to reject yet!!!! This is takin the mick BIG TIME. Ive now done the contact thing, saying all the same things. This is supposed to be such a good anime site that I've had several people suggest to me yet I'm going through this. What a good start aye

That's just how trial memberships work for all sites that offer them. Payment methods are checked for validity and availability of funds by the banks involved.
Pre-paid card providers have more stringent checks in these cases. Commonly card providers even do this by placing a $1 (GBP 1, €1, whatever currency is used) charge on the account to check.

There's usually little we can do on our end, if the banks involved refuse the set-up of a recurring payment for a card. The fact that a free trial does not cost any money has little to do with the "fear" of the banks that a potential future payment may fail.

not sure if this will get seen or not, but any direction to getting this solvedis appreciated. im having the same issue that RiotBiscuit had on page 1 of this thread where it is saying only one free trial per payment method even though this is my first time on the site. Help?suggestions?

I had the same problem but I just ended up paying for a subscription. Is there any way I can get that one month refunded or maybe get next month free? Also I got the link through game grumps so I want to make sure they still get credit for the advertising.

I'm also receiving the "sorry, you can have only one free trial per payment method" message when attempting to activate the free trial.

Despite how long I have had this account, I have never gotten the free trial, as I didn't have a credit card when it was first made. With the new season starting today I figured it was a good time to try it out, but I'm not sure how to get around this issue.

Tried to sign up for the free trial again (multiple times) only to receive the same "sorry, you can have only one free trial per payment method" message. I even tried signing up for it again on console (PS4) which had the same result, not that I was expecting much of a difference but I figured it was worth trying.

Any kind of help solving this issue would be much appreciated

I'm having the same problem.

I created my account, received the confirmation email, clicked on the link to confirm my email address and then tried to sign up for the free trial.

When I finished imputing all my Credit Card data and pressed submit, the website did confirm my credit card is valid (it showed on the CC app on my cellphone Crunchyroll verifying it), however nothing changed on the screen, my account didn't upgrade and I received an error message.

Now, every time I try to enter my credit card info again, it tells me the same payment method can only have one free trial.

However I NEVER GOT TO USE THE FREE TRIAL I WANTED!!!

I found the link on an older reply here on this thread.

Just a pro tip, by the way: Put a link to the customer service somewhere more visible in the user profile or configurations page.

I only posted here on the forum after trying to look for this link a good amount of time and not finding it.

I would need help too. I want to try the free trial, but everytime it's says the same thing that for RiotBiscuit. I loged out and got in again, but this time it says Unauthorized request. I don't know what to do. Please help!
