Let me know if a thread like this one exist or not.
Thanks a bunches.

So, you have been give the gift of immortality and now live in the year 5000. In that year, the world has changed a lot but just how much. In your own word, what is the world like in the year 5000. You can make up anything you want to.

So tell me what the world is like in the year 5000?

Enjoy!!!

Woah woah woahhh ! Hang on there.

Year 5000? I'm living in it!

Alright. So immortality rocks, guys...... I've seen some pretty random crap going on around here. It seems that new viruses are chugging out everyday, and us mortals are still trying to figure ourselves out. Someone came close to finding the truth about this entity called "GOD", but the fella didn't really make it since I was paid to assassinate him on THE YEAR I was made immortal.

Go figure that out................. ;;;;;;;;

I've already said too much.

But me and my little anti-ageing body are going SOMEWH-----

*there is a terrible ripping sound that comes out from Alex's body*

....

..

*sounds of flopping and liquid substances splashing and hitting the floor violently resound*

....

..

Full designer bodies that can be changed as easily as clothing combined with uploading, virtual immortality

AI that is so strange that it can't even be described today.

Genetic life blurring the lines of plant/animal/artificial

Massive overpopulation and chronic food shortages lead 99% of the population to lead marginal lives in crowded mega cities that make conditions in India's worst cities seem tame.

Robots, AI's, and fully automated factories have replaced most jobs, but humanity churns ever onward. The unemployed masses have created their own shadow economies.

From on high, the wealthy few live a life of luxury, looking down from their steel and ceramic towers upon the locusts the other other 99% have become. Technology has progressed beyond all reason and those with the means have long since begun the process of immigrating off planet and into space.

Von Neumann machines mine the asteroid belts, providing nearly unlimited material resources. Massive space-born solar facilities provide near unlimited power. Genetic engineering has cured all illness, including old age. Mind-machine interfaces blur the lines between humanity and self-aware machines.

With millennia of accumulated wealth and technology, I am one of a small handful looking beyond the solar system, launching Von Neumann ships to nearby systems with the technology to terraform new worlds and seed the entire galaxy with life. The ships each carry a copy of my consciousness, to ensure I am reborn on each new world once it is suitable for colonization.

Likely in 5,000 years humanity has killed off all life on Earth and our ancestors live in either orbital space stations or have figured out how to terraform and travel faster than light so we have expanded beyond the Earth and it's become more a symbol than anything. Want a good idea? Read Jack Campbell's Lost Fleet. The entire series pretty much gets what would happen to earth along with the best military sci-fi I've ever seen. Earth is essentially a trophy for the major space powers and a neutral zone while the people on Earth don't give a damn because they're too busy arguing over inane and stupid things to notice while the planet is essentially a giant wasteland they're trying to slowly cultivate back to life.

idk. but i dont think it'll be as bad as sci-fi films make it out to be... sure theres lots of ppl who are shut ins and stay on their comp all day, but then theres lots that are fitness freaks that go to the gym daily. theres tons of pollution but there are tons of environmentalists who seek solutions to those problems, it's not like we're doing nothing.

year 5000, i think space tourism will become an affordable thing for ordinary ppl, i'm pretty sure mcdonalds will be the first restaurant there in orbit, or on the moon.
people might live past 100 years old, because medical technologies will be much more advanced, and wont die from cancers or telomeres shortening.
i definitely think genetic engineering will be a thing; so you can choose what traits you want for your babies, it wont be left to random chances anymore... women might not even have to carry babies anymore.

i'd laugh from my grave if those people still believe in religions.
