Ew, that sucks. My parents are from America, so of course they're fluent.
I dunno how I would deal if they weren't...

Lol, my mother can speak english, but my dad can't.

and I find that as a good thing, because *laughs* when ever there's someone trying to find my parents, or sell something, i'll just say i'm under aged, and they don't speak english =)

my parents aren't fluent in English and I understand that it's hard. Adult's brain are harder to put facts inside than when they were younger. Luckily, I know our some of our native language so I guess it's alright. To be honest, translating English to Japanese is a pain cause I don't know every Japanese so...yah. Oh well~. Cant blame them.

That must be hard.. You know, having to translate stuff for your parents and stuff.. It's difficult and it also gives you a big responsibility. The thing is i never went through such thing.. I would have loved it for my parents NOT to know a language i knew.. They are fluent in four languages and i know them and the problem is, is that they can hear me and understand me no matter what language of the four i speak, so i would like some secrecy too, that's why i am learning Japanese LOL.

Mommy's studying nursing... so she's okaii.
But daddy's hopeless. Told me he failed it when he was young.
Once he asked me what rape meant... and I was like: o_0

But I always find the joy in laughing at their faults.

My parents aren't fluent. when we live in Los Angeles it was not a problem because there was always someone who spoke spanish everywhere we went, but when we moved to Rhode Island it was hard because even though my mom understands a lot of english she has problems if they speak to fast and she is very shy about speaking it because of her accent. What I think is funny is that at her job all her bosses understant her english and she says she is bad at it. It annoys me because I know she knows alot, I mean she knew enough to pass the U.S. citizenship test.

My Dad can speak english, but my Mom can't and I often have to translate things for her and I'm her interpreter when she goes to the doctor. It's quite tough and sometimes can be annoing, but I have to say it can be very funny when she tries to speak english so it's ok
