So we all know that Monster, Death Note, Code Geass, Berserk, When they Cry, Elfen Lied, Steins Gate, Future Diary, Psycho pass, Owari no seraph, Tokyo Ghoul Root A (im iffy on this one), Zankyou no Terror, Aldnoah zero (best music drama subpar), Terraformars, Rainbow, Blood, Claymore, Ergo proxy, Ghost in the shell, Fate (all of them), Hellsing, Attack on titan, Gungrave, etc.. Are the recommended animes for people that love: Gore, Psychological battles, action, adventure and things we have never seen (at leas imo). I have been searching (tested over 100 animes) for something to move me like these did, but no such luck. If this topic is used in another thread I couldnt find it and before closing it please msg me and I will be more than happy to change it. I did see something about dark animes, but thats not my point. Another is a dark anime and I really didnt care for it. I also saw something about psychological, another one of mature, but none about having all in one. Like death note and monster (and all the other ones). I've searched for classics and yes I have seen Ninja Scroll and other movies, but I want a series that makes me feel for the characters and for them to be put in impossible scenarios like Monster. Why are there no more shows like this is my main reason for this thread and if Im just not searching in the right direction feel free to point it out for me. Add me, msg me, and tell me Im wrong I dont mind. But remember to write down a suggestion. I've given you part of my fav shows... This is the reason why I love crunchy... BE MY SAVIOR (my bad too much drama).

Thanks I've heard about the second one... I'll try that one first. Without spoilers what made you like those?

TBH, it actually seems like the main reason for the thread is to hopefully come up with some suggestions for shows that are like this, so I've moved this (as indicated in PM) to the Advice, Info, Recommendations forum.

A discussion of why there aren't more of these types of shows (or even if that assertion is true) would do better as its own thread. But lets see what folks have to recommend first. Maybe you'll discover that in fact that are more shows like that!

As a general answer I'd say because it's normal for there to be a mix of types of shows, and quality of shows, and different things move different people in different ways.

That is kind of what I wanted, to see if in fact there are no more shows like those or if its just me that have yet to find them. Thanks for the input I'll use this as research and maybe when I have more info I'll create a discussion later on.

BTW, Madoka Magica is very good and not just for the psychedelic art. This is one that may take a couple of episodes before you realize what its true tone is, so don't initially just pass it by because it looks too cutesy. In my own opinion though, it does get to the meat of things faster than Steins;Gate did. (I tried and gave up watching that several times before enough recommendations convinced me enough to give it a few more episodes--after which I was glad I had.)

Oh, have you seen Parasyte -The Maxim-. Not sure it'll do the trick for you, but might be worth a look.

I also have hulu, netflix, and funimation. I dont know about the roshi nosebleeds at least in my personal experience, but Im now watching zombie loan here in crunchy and Un-go on hulu... plus tech and madoka to try and see which one I like more. I think I will have to see at leas 5 ep of each until I make my choice.

If you ask me, the problem is that you implied that Monster, Code Geass, and Steins; Gate are on the same level as Owari no Seraph.

Definitely try: Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin, Hajime no Ippo, Mushishi

Maybe try: Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Kuroko no Basket, Haikyuu

If all else fails: Bakuman, Ping Pong the animation, Kanagatari, Barakamon

I completely agree with Texhnolyze in particular. Its honestly a little harrowing but it's the series that made me feel the most. Just be prepared for not a lot of fun.

My bad, didnt imply it on purpose lol, I cant lie to you though I do really like seraph of the end (but no its not even near the same level). Watched Rainbow, Hajime no ippo and I dont know what happened but mushishi kind of went slow and I stopped watching at episode three. All of the other ones I have yet to watch them and will def add them to my queue Thanks.
