Pay for the fcuking subscription if you don't want to see ads. Some ppl act like 5$ are too much too ask for.

More effective aproach? Notify ppl ONCE when they use adblock and IP-block them when they use it a 2nd time.

5$ for what?
Removing ads and seeing anime faster; or you could just go to any other website to watch it in better quality and without ads.
WOW, sounds like a deal, here's 5$ crunchyroll(being completely facetious).

Yeah, other total legit websites, huh?

Edit: Oh, and AFAIK HD and a couple of amazing shows are premium-exclusive.

I would pay for a sub, but they took off the snail mail option which I always used for the past years to get an premium so using ad block cause I'm salty until they bring it back.

I did try a prepaid credit card I got from WalMart, but they didn't accept it and I have enough money on that for a three month so meh CRs loss I guess~

Edit: huh it took my pre paid from Walmart this time just now maybe the day I tried it there was a bug? Welp no need for Ad Block anymore. xD

I would love for adblock to block those things. They drive me crazy, but the problem is, they're not usually a still image that can be blocked. Like if I could manageably block them on my own without having to consult a thousand different sources only to realize there's no proper solution, if only I knew that much about code or how to bypass those annoying ass things, regardless of what site they're on. Using adblock for a reason, I don't like ads, dont try and convince me to turn it off, because I won't.

I honestly don't mind the ads. There aren't even that many of them that you can't just simply be patient and wait. To me it's a bad idea to put on ad block simply due to crunchyroll. If me watching a few 40 second ads helps them provide me with more/better content I'm all for it.

sorry, but i have to disagree with you on this. the revenue earned through stream sites like this one is very tiny compared to revenue they earn from selling merchandise (BDs, books, etc). your post implies that they depend on CR to survive...that's simply not true.

Alright Advertising Industry, I'm calling you out here and now where you are likely to never see this message:

If you want ad blockers gone you had better spend some money to lobby against ISP data caps, to regulate resource and bandwidth usage of ads, and require that "Fast" and "High-Speed" can't be used to advertise sub-broadband speeds. If you really want to go the extra mile try to push for the decoupling of service and infrastructure.

Google somewhat understands but they should be more aggressive about it. The situation isn't getting any better and I doubt their end goal is to be a major ISP.

I have satelite internet, and it sucked when I had a hard data cap; throwing half my data away because of ads.

I use adblock because I want maim and do major hurt to internal ads, that's all.

Without going into the philosophical pros/cons of ads in general, I think persistent internet ads are obnoxious. I don't mind ads on the radio or television because I have very little control over what's being aired in the first place. A streaming media service on the other hand, I literally click and choose what to see and when to see it, so I expect to be able to pick and choose when and where to see ads. Also ads use bandwidth, and most ISPs have hard limits on how much bandwidth you can use. In other words, there is a significant cost of to running ads that is being off-set to the consumer. Maybe if ISPs gave unlimited bandwidth I would feel a lot better.

As far as CR, I don't like the way the ads are timed, it's obnoxious and pisses me off. I can't stand CR as a service without adblock. I don't like that free users have to wait a week or so to see the latest content. If CR would make it so free users could see them sooner (say 1 day delay) and condense the ads a bit to where it wasn't a pain in the ass, then I would consider turning off adblock in the interest of supporting the industry (but ads can still die).

Basically, streaming media services and ISPs in general need to get their act together and actually treat their customers fairly (more than just anime streaming).

Finally, there are ways to get your ads to show up even with adblock turned on. But you have to use ads that comply with adblock's reasonable ad policy (don't make your ads annoying). CR sending notices to its users to specifically turn off ad-block means that they should also be aware their ads are annoying and that is the reason adblock is blocking those ads. Instead of working together to make the internet a better experience for everyone, CR has chosen to be an asshole.
