I've had the same problem, and it keeps getting worse. It's to the point that I was surprised when I was able to watch an episode all the way through the other day.

I've been having this same problem for almost a month now. I came to the forums hoping to find a solution and apparently no one has found it yet. I did some hunting on my own though and I think I might have found the answer myself.

Has anyone tried clearing their cache on their xbox? I tried it about three days ago and it seems to have worked for me. Not only has the ad issue stopped completely, but they actually seem to load much faster and switch back to the program more smoothly.

It's only been three days for me so far so I can't say for sure if this is the answer or if I've just been lucky the last few times I've used the cr app, but after doing it I've managed to burn through like five or so episodes of a series per day when before I was lucky to make it through one. I've had this problem for months. I've repeatedly tried uninstalling, data removal and cache clearing. Nothing seems to reliably effect the problem. Sometimes I get lucky and a string of ads will play flawlessly. Most of the time I end up on broken connections that lead to the last frame of an ad or a black screen.

Is anything actually being done about this?

Nope. And since affects non-paying users, it likely won't be fixed for at least a year, if at all.

Well, the problem stopped for a while, but now it's back and worse than before. I am now completely unable to finish an episode uninterrupted.

Pretty frustrating... I've been having this problem for a few weeks now. I've cleared my cache, and reset my Xbone, unplugged the power brick as well... Sometimes the episodes play but than freeze up at a black screen where adds are supposed to play... Real bummer. Has anything come to lift on this? Can it be patched or is it something on my end I need to fix? Help please!

So is this problem just never gonna be looked at by the staff/support? I realize that we're not premium members but we are still customers to this site and not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to pay for a premium subscription. I've always tried to stay true to crunchyroll with my anime viewing to try to support the industry but with the way the Xbox One app is running its making it difficult to try to get anything watched without having to rely on third party anime sites, which is something that I don't want to have to do. Please for the love of anime, look at what's wrong with the app and try to get this issue resolved. This thread was originally posted in March and to still have nothing done about it in August is a shame.

Dang, I thought it was just a problem on the WiiU because the app for that is super horrible. I feel bad for some people, I haven't been able to use the app for 2 weeks on the WiiU and I thought that was pretty intolerable service. To think it's been a problem for 5 months and no one cares. I thought they made ad revenue based off how often ads are watched but I guess not.

I've had this problem for almost a year now... still no resolution.... and I AM a paid member....

edit to add: I contacted support when it first happened, went through all the steps with support and then was basically told, 'sorry, can't help you, keep trying back.'

this started happen last week on ps4 and it happening on xbox one. it does not help that when it black screen it crashes the app. happen with a prem membership also

Been happening to me for months now and all they keep telling me to do is restart my Xbox, reinstall the app, and clear my queue I've done all that multiple times. It's just the app itself that's broken they need to fix this.

I'm having the same problem as firefly wolf412 I won't sign up for a membership tell it's fixed can't pay for something that's broken. I've Tryed the Xbox forums reset cache reset router Uninstalled reinstalled removed devices from account nothing has worked.
