Hey Anime lovers!

So luck struck like lightning and thanks to the Crunchy Roll Gods I'm off on a trip to Tokyo!
I've got a pretty good idea of what I'm doing but realized apart from the Poke Centre and Finding a giant Gundam to pose with the trips not overly anime centric yet!

Do you guys have any ideas to add? Any photo's you'd like to see? or just curse me for being so lucky ;)
Let me know and I'll do my best to document it as we go!
Flying over this Thursday just in time for the Cherry Blossom Festival.

I'll be checking in regular and doing a write up for Crunchy Roll and it'd be great to get some other members ideas in there!

Thanks in advance,
Joe

I've been on a diet for like the last month but planning on Demolishing everything is Japan. Starting with RAMEN! cos Naruto enjoys it so much. I really don't know anything about Japanese food (except Waygu beef is meant to be amazing!) so any suggestions on what to try would be really appreciated!

Try Ikebukuro. It's a shopping district of Tokyo that has a ton of cool stuff. Akihabara and Harajuku (the temple and shopping district) are also definitely worth a visit.

don't forget to say "Eat a duck I must" before a meal, and "Goat is so samba the Cheetah" after :p

on a more serous note, each region have their traditional cuisine. refer to this:

A friend of mine is visiting Mt. Fuji right now! Her photos are gorgeous, and personally that's one natural wonder I wouldn't miss!

Nice, good link.
I had deep friend icecream at a Japanese restaurant once and it was epic so hoping for a bit more of that ;)

TBH I was planning on sneezing everywhere and rubbing my shoes on the food first, think that generally covers it.
Still need to learn how to say 'Can I have a knife and fork before the noodles end up on the ceiling?'.

Be sure to try out takoyaki: fried octopus, okonomiyaki: you get a bunch of ingredients and eggs and make your own omelet-sort-of pancake, sushi, curry, and you should stop in to some of the "fast food" gyudon: various meats of your choice over a bowl of rice. For the gyudon shops, you pick your order from what looks like a vending machine and hand it to the cashier, take a seat and you'll soon have a quick bowl of food. Also, be sure to check out the confectionery shops to get some gourmet chocolate or desserts. After all that, your diet for the past month will have seemed almost meaningless. :)

Okay, those are more all my favorites, but if you like meat and salts, and sweets, I would suggest looking for all those foods.

Awesome dude! Sounds pretty perfect, better not mention to the GF that its octopus until after she's had it ;)

Don't suppose anyone knows if there's a 'best' pokemon centre out of the three in Tokyo?

If you enjoy the club scene, stop by Shibuya. Also, check out a place called On Air, it sells....... stuff you might wanna partake in before you hit the clubs

Are you just stating in Tokyo or going elsewhere in Japan? Personally, I like getting out of Tokyo as soon as I arrive. The further south you go, the nicer people are and the more English they speak.

If you can stay in a ryokan, I recommend that over a traditional hotel. They're often family run inns. Meals are often included. Maybe do it as a last night treat?

In Tokyo, I recommend hitting Asakusa and visiting Kaminarimon. One thing you'll notice in Japan is that the Buddhist Shrine will be located next to the Shinto Shrine. Ueno Park is also nice this year, but very crowded. I liked the Meiji Shrine located off the Harajuku Station.

Either way, congrats on your trip and I hope you have fun. Make sure to bring two suitcases so that you'll have room to bring your goodies home.
