Being (slightly) rich has its downsides. For starters, in the US anyway, you pay 50% of your income in taxes. All that hard earned money... This levels the playing field pretty quick.

And while the poor and middle class can work hard to earn most of their money, the rich can't do that. They can't do an honest day's labor because it isn't worth it. They have to bang their heads to figure out how best to invest to make more money.

Being rich also means you have a lot more to lose in a divorce.

And then there's the people that are filthy rich, that have a totally different set of problems. The kind of problems where you lose money if you can't spend it fast enough.

The upside of being rich is fairly obvious, you can do whatever you want with the money that you now have rather than dream of doing things with money that you don't. But after owning a luxurious house, car, or whatever, even the rich are dealing with the same problems as the rest of us. So for all the extra headaches, you get nicer things. That's about it.

Being rich is not good or bad but it's good to be rich. There's nothing wrong with having money. Heck it makes life easier but being rich has it's pitfalls too. I'd rather have those pitfalls than have to struggle to pay bills though. It's also nice to be able to get your kids the things they really want. I think most of us would rather have money but we'd like to have it with the lessons we've already learned in life the hard way. I know I wouldn't want to grow up spoiled or feeling entitled but if I could be rich and be like I am now that would be awesome.

I'd love to be rich. But I'm just happy to be alive and to have a bed to sleep on. There's a lot of people who wish they can have your bad days. Gratitude is beautiful, gratitude is peace.

Be thankful for what you have. If you have a computer, internet, watch crunchyroll and eat at least once a day, you are better off than at least 5 billion or so other people.

Its good to become richer, but starting off rich can have huge draw backs.. like games/anime..
If you start all out you don't have much to look forward to or "gain".

So overall it would suck unless you handle the money different or like being a prince or princess trying to change things but like most stories like to put them into a poor sitution or having a war to destroy that "value" and see how things are?

Being rich is all in how you look at it. Myself, I own a few things, I wouldn't consider myself materially rich, some would. But most look at being wealthy in a material way.

Richness, like many other things is relative I guess, but one thing is clear nobody wants to be poor.

I'd rather have more money than less. But from personal experience, you can blow through your whole paycheck in less than 3 days even if you're earning $110/hour. I'd say it's better to have enough money and the ability to make good decisions with it than to have too little money to do anything or too much money that you spend in stupid ways.
