I guess its the noise that's made because your tounge blocks the air from coming out of your mouth and directly through your nose, otherwise it's painful, in the throat. Sometimes when I get hayfever I sneeze so much that my back hurts, and I end up sounding like "EEEEHTTSSS ... uugghh"

In think mine is more like "choo" when it's a strong sneeze or it's "tse" if it's just a normal sneeze. While we are on the subject of sneezing my friend's dad sneezed so hard that he broke his ribs once and had to go to hospital.

when i sneeze i just let the air come out with no attempt to make a noise at the same time.
so why do some people make a noise and more strangley why do they say the word "achoo" ?

Because the sound they make when they inhale before the sneeze is "aaaa" and the sound they make when they sneeze is "chooo". Now if they exaggerate, then that's their own fault.

<<exactly *i'm an "achooer* and it's not like I mean to do it >>that's just what happens.

I have no idea o.O actually, I think it kinda sounds like "achoo" when you sneeze. I seem to have different sounds and not on purpose. It just comes out however it comes out

I normally don't say "achoo" I just sneeze. Problem with that, is that people stare at me. They're like "was that a sneeze?" So because of all the stares I get, I'm stuck saying "achoo'. It pisses me off.

I suppose that the "A" is the response to the stimulation of the nervous system in the nose, and that the "choo" is the sound of contraction of the muscles of expiration. That makes the sound "Achoo". There is this girl in my math class whose sneeze sounds like scream. When she sneezes, my classmates always turn around and stare at her asking if that was a sneeze. I remember she once sneezed loudly and this girl who sits beside me screamed, then another person screamed. It was so funny that everyone started laughing.

why "achoo":
because saying "o noes i'm about to sneeze and spread my germs on you" takes too long.
