I think there are two things that will get me back into regular comicbook reading:

• A return to the old, shorter episodic storytelling with almost no big crossover "events" to interrupt everything going on in the books.

• Having good, stable creative teams with a definite understanding of the characters they've chosen to work on and virtally no stunts in mind.

Other than that, I can't see it coming back to where I'd be curious about it again. Far too many changes have been made in the industry, and far too many potential fans have turned elsewhere. You'd have to go for a whole new demographic, and in the age of streaming Internet video, console gaming and the iPhone, that'd be a tall order to have them go for holding a physical magazine in their hands.

Throw in the new characters created in recent years, and how they've altered the existing ones. I don't think there's any way to bring back the Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman that older fans would recognize. That ship has sailed.

I didn't really have a problem with starting again with characters in a new universe, as you have to every couple of decades because continuity conflicts, it's just the new versions didn't really exited me. The 5 year history thing didn't seem to make sense and once again Superman didn't really seem that super. I'll pick up the rebirth titles just to see how the approach them this time.

Honestly I thought the superman reboot was the best the new 52 had to offer. It brought his powers back to what they originally were in the 30s which was cool.

New 52 as a whole is just kinda ugh for me. For petty reasons like ruining Mr. Freeze but mostly for just shoddy writing.

A continuity reboot is fine just wish they would stick with one for more than 5 years. In my opinion comic book heroes like Batman and Superman are at there best when they arent bound by continuity but just keep familiar elements.

Well Rebirth #1 comes out this week and there are plenty of pages from it floating around the net spoiling things ahead of time.
Reviews however are very possitive (mostly 10 out of 10 from what I've seen).

The idea sounds promising and I do like a lot of what I'm hearing even if some of it is a bit odd

Well I've read Rebirth #1 and I gotta say

I'm actually excited. This was a damn good comic and it injects a lot of things I thought were lost after the52.

I have to pick it up lol. I've been so busy I forgot it was out. From what you posted I'm glad to see they're doing specifically what they promised.

I am really excited about Rebirth after reading #1, I never expected those twists (and there are more to come) and I can't wait to see Nightwing again!

Nothing's really changed for me in the sense that I'm still buying / reading the same series I subscribed to during the New 52 era. That being said, I wish that DC kept the New 52 looks of Superman and Supergirl.

Kinda off-topic.. artists Ivan Reis and Francis Manapul need to be on the flagship books. Their artwork is too good to only be seen every so often.

The one thing that has been killing Rebirth for me is all the new super cartoony artstyles.

Really? Which ones? Aside from the young Animal stuff I haven't really seen that many cartoony artstyles.

Batgirl and Bird of Prey and Teen titans for example come as looking to cartoony too many times.

However even though the more cartoony is better than some of the godawful art from the New 52 and thank god Nightwing's costume is back to blue.
I love titan's though but tha'ts because Dick Grayson/Nightwing is my favorite hero of alltime even though I don't really like the Titan hero lineup.
Harley Quinn's perma Suciide Squad appearance has turned me off of her comic.

Yeah I love Dick Grayson he's probably one of the mist influetal important heroes in the DC universe.
Had they permanently killed him like they planned too I would have been done with D.C.
