My family used to tell me not to whistle, sing or play a wind instrument outdoors in the night because it would summon evil spirits

When you are full, you will drown empty.
Leaning right in the chair... means you are independent, while left for propaganda!

What are some popular myths you know? Or ones that you find many to believe in

My parents honestly believe that sleeping with wet hair will cause unbearable headaches when I get older. It has something to do with water seeping into your brain through the scalpe and causes irreversible damage to the brain. I would really like to know if any older people have this expernce

LOL in anime they say that sleeping with wet hair is the reason why you wake up with messy hair. LOL that's so funny. Because they're like implying that if you sleep with dry hair, you'll wake up with neatly combed hair :D. I forget which anime this was, but it was so weird.

MMmmm, there's this belief that if you have guests over, all of you should turn your dinner plates around 3x so they won't get lost before they leave.

lol. I think they're right about flutes or idk what other wind instruments there are.

but bells drive away evil spirits. It's why the church rings that large bell before mass.

I never heard the one about sleeping with a wet head. My mother always said if you went outside on a cold winter day with a wet head you'd catch pneumonia but I never did.

Pretty much everyone I know who works in medical fields says that the lunatics come out when the moon is full. Especially in the Emergency Room they see really strange cases on full moon nights.

Our bodies are 70% or something water. During a full moon the gravitational influence is greatest, so I mean, yeah it would make sense that the liquid in your body and brain might be influenced somehow. So if you were already predisposed to hormonal imbalances or some shit, then it would only aggravate it during the full moon.

My grandmother said if your hands itch you'll get money hahaha or if you see a red bird you'll have house guests xD

That reminds me, my great-grandmother vehemently thought cats were evil and was terrified of them. If you saw Sleepwalkers you get the idea, sort of.

Sleeping/Going to bed with wet hair will make you blind. Ears burning, means someone is talking about you. Carrots improve your vision. Getting caught in the rain causes colds. If a man touches your boobs they'll grow (Grandma told me this... wtf) If you eat a watermelon seed it will grow inside you. Swallowing gum will stay inside your stomach forever. Bloody Mary (maybe this doesn't count) Waiting an hour after eating before swimming

Wasn't there one in South Korea with a fan. Fan death?

Supposedly you'd die if you sleep with the door closed to your room with a fan on at night.

Ah, I remember another one.

If you have itchy palms you'll be receiving money soon. Or something like that.

I also just remembered one from 2nd grade: kids would tell each other that they would get hairy palms if they jacked/jilled off. Of course the ones who fell for it (and checked their palms) would fall victim to endless teasing.
