First off, I don't pay too much attention to news or probably at all.

I tend to training in ways almost completely in Isolation.

I know I've read Kotaku and been like "Whoa is that a thing?" but I've recently seen people say they are not credible.

So tell me, are they credible?

The short answer?
No. They're the gaming equivalent of a tabloid rag.

They're up to date with releases, however it's got a heavily biased touch when it comes to the reviews.

Really depends on how picky you are.

I almost never used Kotaku, and with that whole gamergate thing, I lost any trust in them.

Kotaku America is not credible and is a horrible place to get info.

Kotaku Australia however is mostly credible with a few personal opinion threads (that are stated as so) and a generally nice site

People seem to forget that the gamergate thing wasn't every kotaku branch the Australia branch still has integrity and is fine.

All that Feminist / Gamergate shit never made it onto the Australian Kotaku iirc.

So depends what version of Kotaku you are talking about.

Kotaku America is mired in the rhetoric of gender politics and political correctness, and in a decidedly bad way. Also it's essentially just a blog, so not really worth much for news.

Well Sterling is superior to Kotaku but well hes superior to pretty much every other games outlet out there.

For me at least I think Kotaku has some good writers on it. I enjoy Patricia Hernandez and Patrick Klepeks content. Generally I like the more meatier content and social issues stuff they write about. Its just that in between all the good articles you have trashy and useless top tens and reposting of youtube videos. Same problems with nearly every gawker related site.

They're very biased and often don't use proper grammar or provide sources for the information they claim to be true.

They are part of the Gawker network. What do you expect?

While the link above isn't perfect, I think it gives a pretty decent description of a lot of the stuff that caused people to stop caring about Kotaku.
