I don't have an opinion.

I'm more concerned about people not being able to tell the difference between "pat" and "pet", especially the translators on Crunchyroll. They keep using, "Pet me", which I'm pretty sure they meant "pat", because "pet me" doesn't make any grammatical sense.

I would get over it really quick if I were you, people who throw off on other people for their hobbies are either ignorant or jealous. :c

I think it's best used on fags who think that otaku culture and Japan are so superior to anything else and they desire to be assimilated into the Japanese hivemind. In that scenario, you're a baka gaijin. A second class citizen who would be ostracized and shit on by most everyone.

Take your brains out of your asses and put them back in your heads, weebs. No one gives a dusty fuck about your waifus and semen-stained dakimakuras. There's more to this life than being useless to the world while living off your parents until they die.

To be honest, up until about a year ago I had never even heard of the term "weeaboo" much less knew what it meant. When I was in High School, nobody used that term and anime was just a hobby some people (like myself and a few of my classmates) were into (and everybody else respected that fact).

Anyways, if someone were to call me a "weeaboo", I would calmly explain why I am not. If however, they continued to call me that, I would turn around and either call them a "hater" or a bigot (because that's what most people who use the term "weeaboo" as an insult are, either "haters" or bigots).

I went to a small event where they only sold a bunch of anime, game, comic related merch and i remember hearing a group of people pass by laughing and saying that this is where the weeabos gather. It does bother me that they misuse the word but it also bothers me that they said it just to slander otakus and people that like this stuff in general. (sorry for any mistakes, english isnt my native language)

I laugh and answer truthfully...

"I've been called a geek, a nerd, a loser, a brainiac and quite a few unrepeatable four letter words and you think something that lame would upset me?".

to me, it's not a word that even seems like an insult any more. like i can't even remember the last time i saw anyone use it as an insult, just people calling themselves a weeaboo as a joke. and hey, i think calling yourself a weeaboo sounds better than calling yourself an otaku LOL

A lot better than calling yourself an otaku, in my opinion.

I feel the opposite way, at least otaku isn't a term that people throw around in an attempt to insult people, hell most English speakers wouldn't even know what it means. To me calling yourself a weeaboo is equivalent to someone who is gay calling themselves a faggot.

My opinion about this is that you shouldn't use it to call someone that's trying to learn Japanese in school and respecting the culture. Weeaboo is just a similar word to poser, like some social rejects pretending to like Japanese culture, disrespecting the language and acting as if Japan is the best country like the ignorant fanboys and pretenders that they are, even though they never been there before. You can be a weeaboo if you think Japan makes better swords than the khukuri or bastard sword and exclusively collects the katana based on ignorance.
