I don't want to scare people with an open wound to the head. I think it's cool people are open minded. Those people are my idols. I emulate people who are good as kinda my role model.

People have tried to change it, and it leads me to be more guarded. The core idea of tolerance hasn't changed, though.

Neither. I do leave room to consider new things but I'm aware that I do have limitations.

I am open minded about things that do not have clear, objective answers.

I've always been of the opinion that gravity is a wave. I mean, of course it is, right? Just like magnetism. But there was a legitimate argument in quantum physics that maybe - just maybe - gravity is a particle. I was skeptical about it, but there was no clear error in the hypothesis. So I admitted and accepted that we were not really sure. For the last few years, research has been proceeding on both fronts with little result.

A few weeks ago, we detected and measured a gravitational wave and proved conclusively that it is NOT a particle. Therefore, when someone comes up to me and says "maybe gravity is a particle," I can say "no, it's a wave." Because there is a clear and objective answer.

Don't be so open-minded that your brains fall out. When you entertain alternative views, be sure you only entertain them insofar as they CAN be entertained.

It depends on the situation...

A friend told me he was gay and I was happy for him being happy (with the guy he met).

A GF told me the reason she worked at a pet store was she had a thing for animals. When she told me just how close she was to hers I was out the door.

Yes, I'm always open to changing my mind on things when presented with new information. I'm not so arrogant where I believe that I can't learn anything of value from others.

Given how wide a demographic of people watch anime its hard to really say anything general like that imo.

By all means let's be open-minded, but not so open-minded that our brains drop out.

Haha, I meant that we must let us keep our minds open by all means, as long as that means keeping our sense of perspective and seeking an understanding of the forces which mould the world. But don’t keep your minds so open that your brains fall out! There are still things in this world which are true and things which are false; acts which are right and acts which are wrong, even if there are statesmen who hide their designs under the cloak of high-sounding phrases.

PD: Cheers!
