I'm very much (over)hyped for this strange game (lol you can tell) - in it, you are not a human, but a spirit crow that can possess bodies. After death, one doesn't just respawn, but has to fly around in crow form and seek new corpse to inhabit; This often means change of class, race and sex!?

This comic actually illustrates a couple of important game mechanics: At first (pages 4,5) a knight (one of 13 classes) chooses to serve Malekai, the Lord of Shadows - one of 13 gods. Malekai grants him eternal life and other benefits, but the knight is obliged to fight and pillage in god's name - including building and maintaining of Malekai's statues and temples (which also cost gold and resources for taxes and maintenance).

After that (pages 1,2,3), on the 47th day of the War of the False Kings, the knight is killed and the crow-spirit leaves to fly and find another body (pages 6,7). On the graveyard nearby, the crow finds the corpse of fallen champion, possesses it and walks away to fight for Malekai again.

...and they all lived happily ever after

The universe consists of many worlds, both persistent Eternal Kingdoms and temporary Campaigns - huge battlegrounds which are slowly (sometimes, for months) devoured by The Hunger. The end of winter marks the end of the world and death of all in it: this is how The Hunger twists Campaign's wildlife through four seasons (and here is couple more pics):

Finally, as "promised", some early (pre-alpha, have mercy!) tests gameplay: First, Confessor (ranged fire DPS) fighting for D'Orion, played by that noob girl, then Champion test tutorial and, say, Ranger tutorial.

PS Best quick intro to Crowfall is it's IGN Wiki. The game is MMO scheduled to launch this December (no way in hell I say, it will be delayed to 2017) and it's main theme is fight for resources and territory control against other players, based on voxel building and destruction.

Seems deserted... ;_; one thing WoW did great at (distance between enemies, using portals/rides and other things to do on the road)
As for now From what I have seen it can be quite fun, but:
1. Player economy? oh god things will go wrong... or exploited
2. Terrain/world seems to suffer (but the overall look from a distance I can quite enjoy either being the castle or something else)
3. Amount of things to do or enemies around while the sense of life in this world maybe seems quite "dead" or silent.

else I do love some of the art too bad it wasn't good shown in the gameplay footage I saw.

Have in mind that this is pre-alpha, bare bones (games have pre-alpha, alpha, beta tests and then launch). They are testing some basic combat abilities and physics + lightning and textures and models and whatnot are in the very early phase.

I mean, normally you wouldn't be allowed to see the game this early, or you wouldn't even know it's in the works. Kickstarter was over a year ago (March 28th last year) and tests and streams are happening since August, this is extremely rare case.

For example, there is only 4 out of 13 classes, each of them is gender locked ATM (the opposite sex model is yet to be modeled and animated) , furthermore they are identical, clones - haircut, beard, skin color, sex, gear & gear colors - everything is the same + no guild emblems (on shields or cloaks) + they have less than half of their abilities and so on + the terrain is quite barren with few NPCs.

Also crafting (gear and vehicles), raising & breeding of mounts and pack animals, building and destruction (sieges) and procedural terrain generation are yet to be added, with lots of work on models, animations and art overall. TL:DR it's all quite rough and lots of stuff is simply missing.

PS While I'm here, they just revealed catapults, nothing special but I kinda like it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9-3fnBL1zI&feature=youtu.be

Also, here is some more recent Ranger PvP footage - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPPl7MpwqyI&feature=youtu.be

PPS I stumbled across this by pure accident, checking "manually" to see whether there was any comment. Do notifications on this site work? Email notifications would be ideal, is there a way to set these?

But would really love it if it had some casual env style to the game like fishing ponds and wheat fields etc, as a other side of the game (a more resource and relaxing while improving)

The skill system (saw it yesterday) looks a bit awfull + some other things -__-

Wait what would they have "random generated" terrain for?
Or is it that you start building up from the ground and then having this "sandbox" to play on? (that would be cool having each side build up to gain/build shops with better stuff to buy/craft and more ;D

I know its early but it still seems like it wouldn't really "grab" me for playing it or go into its "world", but I could really see some of the "gamemodes" to be really fun! and some other aspects of it.

<snippetySnip>

The catapult when I saw that it seems like something I could love, having maybe a seige mode and when destroying buildings their "minions"/lifes decreases (for either side or for defenders) and that you controlled it in 3rd person with "abilites" lol.

Ranger footage, again overall battles seems a bit ... dull (could be improved by more visual feedback and combat)

Some also why I liked LoR: Conquest
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vUtSE4gKUk

The Lord of the Rings Conquest multiplayer gameplay Minas Morgul (+ a "bug" lol)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEGveNpUsZg

as there you could see how many would want the bow to act/feel like, but again a game with many more creatures to fight and other things to make it like that as this game being more open and needs more "protection" because of they will recive some arrows.

And about notifications only if you quote someone (clicking like you did else you can't "follow" your own threads I wish I could but in some you would get over 100+ so not so great and maybe a bit much for CR giving them all notice for "just that" like it isn't FB/tumblr/twitter.. etc)

also the things I saw unfinished in some case that being animation, and few other things and makes it looke a bit silly But would really love it if it had some casual env style to the game like fishing ponds and wheat fields etc, as a other side of the game (a more resource and relaxing while improving)

The skill system (saw it yesterday) looks a bit awfull + some other things -__-

Randomly generated terrain (thou it will have some "human touch" and check) means new maps and battlegrounds each time, also it gives players tools to build their own kingdoms - hey, it's like playing Tetris!? Just skip that awful, AWFUL acting in the beginning - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KqtrG0KRGE&feature=youtu.be

Catapults, sieges - they let players test destruction for the first time yesterday, this is how early tests look with very small number of players; and I am afraid it is FAR, far away from what you imagined (say, skip to 44:10 to see dest "live") - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX77x5aUQno

Imagine that with hundreds of players both on walls and below, manning balistas, catapults, rams, siege towers, boiling oil or just shooting spells and arrows or healing others - and you'll see why combat seems so "slow and dull" on the small scale. And 20 or 50 is small scale for Crowfall =)

Fishing ponds and wheat fields - there will be something like that, there will be hunting and gathering and harvesting and shops and NPC helpers, same as stables with raising and breeding mounts or pack animals and so on, building and crafting...this is not just arena or battleground.

Problem is - you will either need friends or guild to go to the Campaigns (think: continent sized battlegrounds with thousand players, that will last for months) and get it out for you, or you will have to go to Campaigns yourself, which means building and fishing and all that...BUT in the battleground... thou you can do it "safely" behind your keep walls as long as the siege window is not open (I guess, 15-20 hours every day is "safe"), and as long as your friends are defending it successfully.

In other words, Crowfall is not single player game, even "worse" - you won't have much fun in it unless you connect with people/guilds/aliances, and it sometimes means schedules and commitment and yadda...think: EVE online, I guess it is good parallel; Not perfect, but nothing better comes to mind.

In other words, this doesn't have to be the game for you!? And it's cool, Crowfall is quite niche and well aware of it

PS thanks for explaining the (sad...) state of notifications here - one of the reasons I replied...well...couple days later
