the episodes are a little shorter than what I was expecting, animation is really good though. I was already planning on playing the game but little extras never hurt to watch.

Short, but sweet. Pretty badass. has me pumped more for the game. So, I suppose it's doing it's job thus far.

Seconding this as a Final Fantasy fan for the past quarter-century.

This being a Nomura Fantasy, expect lovely visuals as absolutely nothing happens.

Hey! I played through all of the FF13 saga, and stuff happened. Proper Noun was attacking Proper Noun because Proper Noun was...doing something. But then it turned out Proper Noun was actually secretly involved with Proper Noun, who wanted to...do something, I think?

Then people died, people came back, time travel was involved somehow, people died again, then I think you fought God?

Okay, I spent something like 140 hours on those games, and I still have no idea what happened without reading a FAQ. For all intents and purposes, nothing could have happened and I wouldn't have known the difference. So...I guess you might be right.

Seriously, though, Nomura needs to work on giving his characters proper motivations. Or at least making them clearer.

bahahaha, perfect description. I did FF 13 and 13-2. When I saw 13-3 was essentially a one person party, I was like eff that. 13 and 13-2 had its moments. I liked a lot of it, but disliked the lack of magic meaning. Some of the characters were interesting.

I really enjoyed 12, even though it was an unfinished project, and had a few too many Star Wars elements. It was the world play, the combat, and that amazing line up of side quests. Good fun. FF9 also had some amazing side quests. FF10 had horrible side quests. Chocobo timers and lightning dodging is not fun. The side quests really add dimension to these games, and I hope 15 follows suit to that idea.

Pretty cool action. Especially Noct with his phasing and weapon switching. Though it felt a little weird whenever I saw Noct, I was reminded me of Sasuke.

Haven't played any Final Fantasy. Are these characters part of the games?

Yup, Noct is the protagonist of the upcoming Final Fantasy XV. The other three (Prompto, Gladiolus, and Ignis) make up the rest of your party in the game. Played the demo so far and its pretty good. Noct does fight exactly like that in game, with the phasing and summoning different weapons.

I did like FF13 and FF13-2 quite a bit (LR, battle system and redoing the same stuff over and over I lasted about 10 hours with). I thought the protagongists were for the most part interesting, it looks great even today too. Supposedly for FF13 they left a ton of stuff on the cutting room floor. I think they got over their heads in development though (hence all the Xenosaga ep.3 like read this stuff that should have been in the game material).

They seem to be going all out for FF15 and I think they realize that they aren't the only console RPG in town anymore (western RPGs + Persona 5). Star Ocean looks to be making a comeback too.

*slow clap*

Bravo!

That being said, if Nomura has not figured out how to write a proper script after over two decades of being in the company, I don't think he's ever going to get it. Just expect a bunch of bishounen standing around talking about nothing (or not talking at all!) until Square Enix goes bankrupt.

Well, to be fair, Nomura hasn't worked on FF15 in over a year, so any failures in storytelling can't *entirely* be laid at his feet. Of course, the fact that it took 8 years to finally take him off of the project is troubling enough, but still.

Band of brothers......

Anyway , I watched it a few times now I sure am starting to get annoyed by the seiyuu of Leonis ... Hiroki Touchi in the game but the character sounds more like Kakihara san in the anime.

As for Tatsuhisa Suzuki is definitely prince Noctis and Miyano Mamuro is Ignis but not sure for Gladiolus Amicitia, its Kenta Miyake in the game, It could be the same.

Here is the video game trailer gameplay with the Japanese seiiyuu, sorry some spoilers maybe in the trailer

This anime is pretty much a sales pitch for the game
but I am going to wait since I couldn't decide which platform to buy i didnt upgrad yet since I haven't been playing lately, maybe when I retire

Crunchyroll and YouTube alone are really nice on the PS4. PS Vue on PS4 is also nice, if you hate regular cable.

First episode decent if "safe" in that it spoiled very little as an intro to the games characters in the modern setting of Episode 1 (rest are apparantly prequel based to show how the 4 became such close friends). Its a free anime on Youtube but production value impressed me and glad they embraced the games mechanics in the action scenes.

Episode 2

Here is an episode that focuses on Prompto and how he became a part of Noct's fraternity as it all started when he took care of an injured dog that was separated from its owner. He cared for Pryna, and ended being connected to the princess Lunafreya. Back then, he was a fat and chubby kid, but after an aggressive exercise and diet routine, he slimmed down and became muscular. That was kind of weird that his hometown resembles a typical Japanese town. Anyway, that was some nice insight on Prompto, Seeing that it didn't build off of the first episode that I would think that this OVA series figures to be episodic while saving the plot and stuff for the game.
