Episode 1: Look Before You Leap

Yep echoing what a lot of others are saying, Lots of characters, some are bound to get offed. I feel like this is going to get really ugly and dark. Giving me Higurashi vibes for a reason.

All the people on the bus are crazy the name that stuck out to me the most was Soy Latte and that was the only screen time she got lol. But like how they tried to give extras some sort of personality rather than being a figure in the background.

The only sane person seems to be the bus driver. He actually gives some good life lessons like not running away from life to start a new one. Sometimes you gotta face it head on. When life gives you lemons you burn their house down. XD

I liked the episode, would rather have ticking time bomb not be the MC hopefully they take the risk and off him soon but that's not gonna happen. But I'm looking forward to this strange darkness that looms over this

This was the only Friday anime that looked remotely appealing, now that FT is on a break.

It is fun so far. I hope it doesn't become like Mushi-Shi, which had similar introductory vibes, but with a lot less people. I doubt it will though.

A lot of characters in this, but I should be able to remember most of them by face as each character stands out pretty well from each other. Getting a lot of suicide cult vibes from this too. Can't help but feel bad for the coach driver who is inevitably going to get caught up in this all without wanting to be.

Lol, that bus driver is done for. He must have known it was going to start going downhill once he seen the mist covered bridge. He seemed reluctant to even drive over it. I think he'll be the first one to get offed trying to leave.

The weak point ( maybe ) is the combo of Director: Tsutomu Mizushima
Series Composition: Mari Okada as both dont have no common projects but for Tsutomu Mizushima who worked on and did good work on Shirobako / Prison School would have made a smoother entry episode.

A Partial quote by Samu / RANDOM CURIOSITY

The Bumpy Ride Ahead – But Who’s Driving?:

In case you weren’t aware, Mayoiga is directed by Mizushima Tsutomu (Another, SHIROBAKO, xxxHOLIC) and written by Okada Mari (GOSICK, Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans, Zetsuen no Tempest). If you know anything about anime, you’ve likely heard these two names before. Mizushima is a very good director who has done plenty of noteworthy originals (his last one was my personal pick for 2015 Anime of the Year), but not everything he does is great. Similarly, Okada Mari has her reputation, though I have enjoyed almost everything that I’ve seen from her – but I tend to enjoy melodrama, so that comes down to my own personal taste. Whatever you may think of these two, this is a combination you can’t ignore. And going by this opener, it’s certain to be entertaining.

Partial quote's by Guardian Enzo./ Lost in America

Well – you knew it wasn’t going to be boring…

My first read on Mayoiga is that this is what you’d get if Another had been written by Okada Mari. And yet – that should terrify you.

This is going to be a tough one to assess, honestly. Is there talent on display here? Absolutely – I mean, Mizushima Tsutomu is a very good and versatile director, and it shows. But if you watched Another you know what happens when he indulges his baser impulses as he did in the final few episodes. And do I even meed to mention what happens when Okada Mari is involved in projects prone to excess? The potential for an absolute clusterfuck is dripping from every pore of Mayoiga, but there’s a part of you that kind of wants to be watching when it all goes terribly wrong.

I think the most fundamental question is just how seriously Okada and Mizushima want us to take this nonsense. My gut says not very, which is good because if they did, boy are they kidding themselves. But the downside there is that Okada tends not to do very well with self-indulgent parody – she’s very much at her best with works that are more sincere and reality-driven. And I fear that the true Mizushima was the final few episodes of Another, and not the first ten (where it was a borderline great mystery-horror series).

Finally watched it. Meh. Has potential to get me caught up in it, but I'm certainly not there yet. Has potential to leave me not caring at all or rolling my eyes at over-the-top everybody dies, but I'm not quite not caring yet. I actually do like Mitsumune. And also that grumpy jerky debbie-downer guy, and not just because of the hair.

It has the same Director as Another but is an anime original story. Take that as you will. I enjoyed the first episode and look forward to more crazy cult shenanigans next time.

That explains why I was getting the same feel as Another. I'm finding it interesting and can't wait to see where it goes.

I'm getting a HUGE Silent Hill feeling from this. Almost like it was inspired by it in some way. Also didn't that shot of the town look like the one from when they cry? Is there some source material for this show, or is it it's own new IP? What company is making it?

With the help of a "certain individual" they have located the village. Koharun, eh? Why do I have the feeling she isn't human...

Most of the characters seem to be pretty on edge already, so I can see things going very dark at a rapid pace.

Nice to have a spot filled for the creepy mystery show this season.

You don't start a show with such a huge cast and not plan on killing a few of them off, unless you're insane like Horizon was.
