I'm from the United States, and I always had a love for anime. I guess watching asian dramas was the next logical step after that and reading as much manga as I do. I also agree 100% with demjeans, "asian dramas are better than most American shows."

Well, I'm not from Asia and so don't consider myself Asian, as for descent...who knows? I don't. I'm probably a whole bunch of stuff.

I like a lot of dramas from asia b/c of the cinematography, audio, and the foreign exposure feeling mixed with the "hey, I can relate feeling"-I don't get that feeling from soaps on tv where I'm at, unless they are like Kdramas or Jdramas. Also they are humorous and not as morally incorrect so far as I want to lead my life so I like them more; they set better images so far as I've seen compared to things like Sex and the City and the Sopranos. To me they are, in general, more worth watching than any other dramas I've seen.

Subtitles and easily accessible language education(especially for foreign languages) rock!
Hooray for the internet!

I'm UK born but my parents are Indian so I watch a few Indian dramas, I'd say they're kinda similar to the eastern Asian ones, especially love themes. I like the movies more than dramas though.
