Biggest hit was KONOSUBA. It was also an oddly good season for shorts, with Ooyasan wa Shishunki, Ojisan to Marshmallow, Tabi-Machi, Galko-chan, and She and her Cat. And that's just the really good ones.

Biggest CR miss for me was Dagashi Kashi. I'm already ready to call 2016 Character of the Year for Hotaru.

That was a easy fun watch, Very underated!

This new generation never seen Excel Saga ( great satire on anime tropes / the author co- write Pandora) and of course The Ghost in the Shell aUthor

What anime is this, and is it streaming anywhere? I need more Excel-like things in my life.

Excel Saga (TV) ANN

Plot Summary: Hyperactive Excel does anything and everything to try to please her lord, Ilpalazzo, who wants to take over the planet. Excel's misadventures takes her and her partner, the ever-dying Hyatt, all over the world, meeting several strange people as they go. Everything is bizarre and goofy, as any kind of anime or entertainment genre gets mocked and spoofed.

FUNIMATION

Genre: Comedy,Fan Service,Sci Fi,Slice of Life,Space
Rating: TV-MA
Number of Episodes: 26

Excel Saga is undeniably one of the weirdest and wackiest anime series ever made.
Neil Lumbard, DVDTalk.com

Excel Saga is one of the best examples of parody anime out there.

Excel Saga is sorta too cracked-out to explain. Technically, it’s about a girl that’s part of a secret organization and she wants to conquer the city so she can impress her boss, and her best friend sucks at living, and she might eat her singing dog. Makes sense, right? Well, it doesn’t matter! Because every episode of Excel Saga is a ridiculously random mash-up of everything that rules. There’s totally something for everybody! It’s like a sci-fi movie full of drunken kittens. It’s like a romantic comedy about zombies that drive laser motorcycles. Or a cop show where sexy robots wrestle naked pop stars in a pit of flaming glitter. And when you smoosh that all together? BOOM. Excel Saga!

Wow, I completely failed to communicate that properly. I actually own and love The Excel Saga (see my avatar), I was asking about the anime you were apparently comparing to it.

No Problem The Co-Author Of Pandora is the Author of Excel Saga. The other author is The Ghost In The Shell making for an unique blemd of comedy meets A.I.'s cyborgs.

for me wins were- schwarzesmarken, konosuba, erased, gate, and iron blooded orphans.

misses- dimension w and Pandora and the crimson shell: ghost urn, i loved this show. I didn't follow grimgar of fantasy and ash but plan to binge watch the entire thing soon.
pandora was a fun show to watch, seems like it wasn't that popular unfortunately

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu (unique concept and subject matter, set in an era that few anime hearten back to, good pacing, good series, good animation, definite improvement over the cheap crap DEEN has released in the past. wins AOTS hands down for me.)

Musaigen no Phantom World (still better than most this season that I watched)

Misses (i would call these more "disappointments" than outright misses because they flushed their potential down the drain)

Durarara Ketsu (bad adaptation of the light novel series, felt extremely rushed, crappy ending that was in the LN and equally crappy there, which I hate in both mediums, Nasujima Takashi deserved better)

Bokumachi / ERASED (speaking of erasing… the killer's backstory being completely omitted from the anime and that meh ending completely ruined all the show had going for it. suffers from the same crappy adaptation problem as Ketsu in the latter half)
